2. Introduction
To begin with this planning task, it is rather important that our group
consider audio for our teaser trailer-sound shall be effective for us to help
create that atmosphere within our trailer and give that exciting atmosphere
to audiences.
Before I begin to look for audio sources for us to use-it’s important that I
gain permission if our group wants to use that specific piece of audio that is
regarded as secondary, meaning that this piece of sound has not been
created by our group but by someone else. It’s essential to gain that
permission to ensure that it is okay to use someone else's work within our
production that will not exceed copyright reasons nor legal issues-this can
lead to things such as claim copyright or suing if our group does not obtain
the audio permission needed to use for our production.
I shall be investigating into sources of sound audio from both primary and
secondary ways to which our group can potentially combine both to explore
many soundtracks and effects to ensure our production is rich in audio
sounds to give it that high sense of realism.
3. Primary
Sources: Foley
Sounds
As we enter the A2 stage, it is important that we investigate into primary sources sounds as
well as secondary sources to ensure that we are gaining our own music tracks to make our
project more personal and independent to us.
In regards towards this specific primary source and how we gain some, we can resort to
making our own sound effects-this pro9cess is most predominantly k known as Foley
Sounds, in which we have to make our own sound effects to incorporate into our production-
this can be effective for us s not only are we making our sound tracks and effects but we are
also making it more independent to us
The website is mainstream so many people will be using the same secondary sources that our
group has come across to, this place our group at an disadvantage for us as than our teaser
trailer will not be as original but have sounds derived from other projects too.
I think creating Foley sounds would be quite a clever thing to explore, especially how our
teaser trailer is personal to us and we know what sounds we desire to be incorporated into
our project. It would also help to make our production to be more personal as the sounds we
create will not be featured upon websites as its something original to us.
In conclusion, I think that it will be best to make sound effects out of Foley, especially for the
effects that we have in our head that we want to replicate to cater towards our own desires.
However, for this to come into place we may need to try out test shoots of creating our own
sound before making the decision to create sound effects off of our own accord. So it may be
bet experimenting but to also keep in mind of the source free sites that can help make
realistic sounds already.
5. Secondary
AudioSources
1: Incompetch
In regards towards our previous AS
production, we used this website
source to cater towards audio for our
own final piece.
The soundtracks offered many pieces
of music which was effective for us-
especially how our previous genre
was reflecting upon the thriller
narrative, so we needed to explore a
wide range of sources from audio to
ensure that fits within the narrative.
We needed to ensure that we
credited his music soundtracks so if
we were to use this within our teaser
trailer than we need to credit his
music throughout.Yet this is no
major problem considering that his
soundtracks are rich in variety that
can help bring our production to life.

7. Secondary
AudioSources
2: FreeSFX
Again in regards towards last years project,
our group also use this website source,
FreeSFX as a way to gain more sound effects
rather than soundtracks.This was also
effectively as it allowed our group to add in
realistic sounds in to make the footage sound
realistic.
I think this would also be a good source to use
for our horror teaser trailer as we can easily
download the desired sound effects we want
whilst editing the footage in.
Again, the source of audio varies, however the
website sites states that we are free to use the
sound effects of the desired track, however
we must double check the source of the sound
effect to ensure we do not breech any
copyright reasons and credit if the creators
wish to be credited.

9. Secondary
AudioSource
Three:
YouTube
Another source our group can use can be
YouTube, this also varies as some of the
composers can be debatable regarding using
their source track. We can easily search for tracks
based from the horror genre-we would also be
exposing ourselves worldwide asYouTube is
mainstream where our group can gain access to
many soundtracks.
However if we were to use them, our group
would have to request to use them via email. This
may be difficult considering how some emails
will take for ever to come back to us due to the
composers not wishing for us to use their sound
tracks.
Yet, I am sure that if we wanted to use a
particular soundtrack, I'm sure that we can
investigate into the legal processes first and the
composers may allow us to use the track
provided if we credit their names or purchase
their music.
This can be an exploration process however I
think that we may use secondary sources 1 and 2
to incorporate into our production.

14. Conclusion
regarding
audio for our
production:
In regards towards audio for our production, I believe that our group would like to
create a wide range of soundtracks and effects derived from both primary and
secondary sources-yet I believe that our group may rely upon the use secondary
dominantly, considering that this shall give us authentic soundtracks and effects that
will sure create that sense of verisimilitude to audiences as the track fits effectively
within the production.
I may explore both primary and secondary tracks when it come to post production,
yet upon shooting our footage I would like to look more into what could be
appropriate for each scene to guarantee the best overall success. In regards to using
Foley, I believe that this can be of effective use to us as our group can expand our
skills and learn about replicating sounds with objects around us. However, as
amateurs, our skills in creating sound may be limited so we may need to resort back
to using secondary sites that may improve the overall quality of our sound within our
production.Yet, it may also be of good worth to explore both and compare to see
which sound effect would fit in well with our production, that way we are constantly
exploring and self evaluating our work.
I think if we were to use secondary sources than use Incompetch as our main source
as we can than explore a wide range of sources that can fit in well with our project-
however I think it would additionally be best to also incorporate some self made
sound effects to incorporate into our production as well, that way our group have
explored both potential sources from both a primary and secondary perspective to
include into our project of audios tracks and effects.
Yet, upon using secondary sources, I would need to ensure that we credit the
composers and their soundtracks to ensure that we do not breech not copyright
issues.
