Ofcom has awarded the new Ipswich local commercial FM radio licence to
Tindle Radio’s 'Town FM' bid that will provide “a distinctive speech and music
led” format.
A station spokesperson commented: “We passionately believe in providing
quality and localness, which not only makes essential listening for local people
but also offers exciting and affordable advertising opportunities to businesses
in the area.”
Tindle owns nearby stations 'Dream 100' in Colchester and 'The Beach' in
Great Yarmouth, and the decision continues Ofcom’s track record of awarding
almost all new local licences to applicants with existing media outlets in the
same or a neighbouring area.
