TheChallenge
As part of their regional growth strategy, from 2006 to 2014 Orlando Health acquired a number of professional practices. They
have grown from 70 to 500 physicians, and are now a $1.7 Billion, seven-hospital enterprise. Their rapid growth enhanced their
ability to deliver care, but presented significant organizational challenges, since many of the acquired physician practices had
different billing systems and procedures.
Clearly, Orlando Health needed to integrate its physician practices into one enterprise practice management solution that
would make it possible for organizational guidelines to be performedglobally.
TheSolution
Instead of having two separate centers for each patient. Orlando Health decided to make each patient the center of activity,
Three customized solutions, developed with VisiQuate, made this possible: Physician Performance Analytics, Revenue Cycle
Analytics, and Patient Pay Segmentation and Analytics.
Today, the organization’s two centralized billing offices communicate and share information on a daily basis. Orlando Health
knows precisely what contribution margin each physician is responsible for, not just for his or her professional services, but for
all services billed by the hospital for each of that physician’spatients.

Our solutions combine advanced analytic capabilities with powerful processing of specific Orlando Health business rules. This
automatically performs the charity pre-screening function and highlights patients who likely qualify for a charity writeoff. The built- in
collaboration of the VisiQuate Enterprise Analytics platform helps the two organizations share important information about their
common patients, even though the hospital and physician businesseshave their own sourcesystemsand businessstaff.
When the hospital side performs a charity review and authorizesa writeoff, the physician side is automaticallyupdated. This makes
intelligent worklisting possible and eliminates redundantpatientreviews.
