4. LOGISTICAL SITUATION:
a. GENERAL SUPPLY: (See Annex C) Units will Step off with 100% UBL.
FSCs will carry 1 DOS CL I for their maneuver unit and the BSB will carry 1
DOS for the BCT. FSCs will resupply their maneuver units with CL I at H+78
and A/64 BSB will resupply the FSCs at H+80 at the LRP (vic. 38 SQJ 1108
7756) .
b. FIELD SERVICES: (See Annex B) SLCR will not be available until after H+96.
Preplanned aerial resupply is not needed at this time. 64 BSB has a Mortuary
Affairs team attached located at the BSA.
c. FUEL: (See Annex C) All Vehicles will begin Phase I (H+60) at 100% on JP8.
3ABCT will use 38364 gallons of JP8 by H+78 when the CABs conduct a tactical
halt. FSCs will refuel their Maneuver units at H+78 and A/64BSB will refuel
FSCs at the Logistics Rally Point (vic. 38 SQJ 1108 7756) at H+80. D FSC will
receive 2035 gallons, E/F FSC will each receive 9326 gallons, G FSC will receive
2147 gallons, and BSTB will receive 1200 gallons of JP8. The BSB will refuel
itself with 14601 gallons after it has refueled the FSCs and then 4th SB at H+82
will refuel 64 BSB with 60,000 gallons.
d. AMMUNITION: (See Annex D) 3/29 FA is the only unit expected to need a CL
V resupply before H+96. If they are not resupplied at H+78 then at H+84 they
will drop to 30% UBL for 155mm DPCIM and 155mm RAP. The UBL will also
drop to 60% for charges, fuzzes and primers. Both CABs and the CAV will stay
above 97% on all ammunition through H+96.
e. MAINTENANCE: (See Annex E) During the Assault 4/10 CAV will lose five
M3A3s and four of those will be repairable allowing 4/10 CAV to maintain a 96%
OR (Operational Readiness) rate. 1/8 CAB and 1/68 CAB will each lose five
M1s, six M2s and one M3A3. Four M1s, five M2s and one M3A3 will be
repairable, giving both CABs a 97%, 97%, and 100% OR rate, respectively, for
those vehicles. 3/29 FA will lose two of their 16 M109s and one will be
repairable giving them a 94% OR rate. As 3 ABCT transitions to Stability
Operations in Phase III Loss Rate and Recovery rate will stay the same for M1s.
4/10 CAV will six of their M3A3 and five will be repairable keeping them at a
96% OR rate. The CABs will each lose eight M2s and six will be repairable
giving them a 93% OR rate. 3/29 FA will maintain a 100% OR rate, losing 3
M109s with all three being repairable. During the assault 31 tracks will go down
and 25 will be repairable. Six tracks will have to be recovered back to 4th SB. To
speed up repair time HETs will be needed to expedite the recovery of tracks to the
rear.
f. HEALTH SUPPORT: (See Annex F) Unit Strength will stay above 95% from
H+60 through H+96. The first 24 hours of operations the unit will lose 159
Soldiers and out of those 29 will be KIA and 3 will be MIA. In the next 24 hours
4
of operations the unit will lose 77 Soldiers and out of those 77, 14 will be KIA
and 2 will be MIA.
g. TRANSPORTATION: (See Annex G) 64 BSB does not have any HETs. We
have requested 6 from 4 SB to overcome the shortfall to backhaul the six track
vehicles anticipated to go down and be non-repairable.
5. CONCLUSION: OPERATION BLACKHORSE is logistically supportable. The only
shortfall is with HETs to recover down tracks, but six have been requested for backhaul.
5
ANNEX A: GENERAL SUPPLY
For Class I, MREs and bottled water, the FSCs personnel have been combined with the
maneuver units because they will be moving with the maneuver units. At H+80 FSCs
will be resupplied with CL I, giving them two DOS CL I until the BSA is located at
H+100. At H+100 64 BSB will need a resupply of 20 pallets (MRE), 148 pallets (H2O)
from 4 SB at OBJ MAMBA
Civil Considerations: There will be Approximately 200 EPW/displaced civilians so the
BSB will receive 8 extra pallets of water and 2 pallets of MREs during the resupply at
H+82, and the BSB will provide meals as necessary.

ANNEX D: AMMUNITION
3/29 FA is the only unit requiring a CL V resupply through H+96 of the operation.
DODICs D563 and D579 are limited by the CSR but D514 and D544 have the CSR equal
to the RSR so they can be substituted for resupply. The CSR is also equal to the RSR for
all Charges, Fuzzes and Primers. This substitution of DODICs for resupply at H+78 will
eliminate all shortages of CL V.

ANNEX F: HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT
Table F1 shows the capabilities of being able to move wounded on the battlefield. If the
majority of the casualties occur at the same time, air MEDEVAC will be required to
expedite Soldiers evacuation to a Role II Facility. The BSAs Role II Facility can
accommodate 40 patients. Aeromedical Evacuation Liaison Teams can be coordinated
for through 4th Combat Aviation Brigade S3. Their capabilities for Air MEDEVAC
include eight UH-60A Blackhawk helicopters. If Air becomes unavailable units will use
nonstandard platforms that are part of the Company Train to move Casualties to the BAS.
BCTs are responsible to evacuate casualties from unit area to BAS or Role II BSMC
evacuation to Role III will be coordinated for by BCT Medical Surgeon. The projected
amount of WIA (Table F2 and F3) shows that 3 ABCT will not exceed the limit of the
Role III Medical Facilities at WABASH (164 beds) and STUART (82 beds).

  • 3. 3 4. LOGISTICAL SITUATION: a. GENERAL SUPPLY: (See Annex C) Units will Step off with 100% UBL. FSCs will carry 1 DOS CL I for their maneuver unit and the BSB will carry 1 DOS for the BCT. FSCs will resupply their maneuver units with CL I at H+78 and A/64 BSB will resupply the FSCs at H+80 at the LRP (vic. 38 SQJ 1108 7756) . b. FIELD SERVICES: (See Annex B) SLCR will not be available until after H+96. Preplanned aerial resupply is not needed at this time. 64 BSB has a Mortuary Affairs team attached located at the BSA. c. FUEL: (See Annex C) All Vehicles will begin Phase I (H+60) at 100% on JP8. 3ABCT will use 38364 gallons of JP8 by H+78 when the CABs conduct a tactical halt. FSCs will refuel their Maneuver units at H+78 and A/64BSB will refuel FSCs at the Logistics Rally Point (vic. 38 SQJ 1108 7756) at H+80. D FSC will receive 2035 gallons, E/F FSC will each receive 9326 gallons, G FSC will receive 2147 gallons, and BSTB will receive 1200 gallons of JP8. The BSB will refuel itself with 14601 gallons after it has refueled the FSCs and then 4th SB at H+82 will refuel 64 BSB with 60,000 gallons. d. AMMUNITION: (See Annex D) 3/29 FA is the only unit expected to need a CL V resupply before H+96. If they are not resupplied at H+78 then at H+84 they will drop to 30% UBL for 155mm DPCIM and 155mm RAP. The UBL will also drop to 60% for charges, fuzzes and primers. Both CABs and the CAV will stay above 97% on all ammunition through H+96. e. MAINTENANCE: (See Annex E) During the Assault 4/10 CAV will lose five M3A3s and four of those will be repairable allowing 4/10 CAV to maintain a 96% OR (Operational Readiness) rate. 1/8 CAB and 1/68 CAB will each lose five M1s, six M2s and one M3A3. Four M1s, five M2s and one M3A3 will be repairable, giving both CABs a 97%, 97%, and 100% OR rate, respectively, for those vehicles. 3/29 FA will lose two of their 16 M109s and one will be repairable giving them a 94% OR rate. As 3 ABCT transitions to Stability Operations in Phase III Loss Rate and Recovery rate will stay the same for M1s. 4/10 CAV will six of their M3A3 and five will be repairable keeping them at a 96% OR rate. The CABs will each lose eight M2s and six will be repairable giving them a 93% OR rate. 3/29 FA will maintain a 100% OR rate, losing 3 M109s with all three being repairable. During the assault 31 tracks will go down and 25 will be repairable. Six tracks will have to be recovered back to 4th SB. To speed up repair time HETs will be needed to expedite the recovery of tracks to the rear. f. HEALTH SUPPORT: (See Annex F) Unit Strength will stay above 95% from H+60 through H+96. The first 24 hours of operations the unit will lose 159 Soldiers and out of those 29 will be KIA and 3 will be MIA. In the next 24 hours
  • 4. 4 of operations the unit will lose 77 Soldiers and out of those 77, 14 will be KIA and 2 will be MIA. g. TRANSPORTATION: (See Annex G) 64 BSB does not have any HETs. We have requested 6 from 4 SB to overcome the shortfall to backhaul the six track vehicles anticipated to go down and be non-repairable. 5. CONCLUSION: OPERATION BLACKHORSE is logistically supportable. The only shortfall is with HETs to recover down tracks, but six have been requested for backhaul.
  • 5. 5 ANNEX A: GENERAL SUPPLY For Class I, MREs and bottled water, the FSCs personnel have been combined with the maneuver units because they will be moving with the maneuver units. At H+80 FSCs will be resupplied with CL I, giving them two DOS CL I until the BSA is located at H+100. At H+100 64 BSB will need a resupply of 20 pallets (MRE), 148 pallets (H2O) from 4 SB at OBJ MAMBA Civil Considerations: There will be Approximately 200 EPW/displaced civilians so the BSB will receive 8 extra pallets of water and 2 pallets of MREs during the resupply at H+82, and the BSB will provide meals as necessary. • 12. 12 ANNEX F: HEALTH SERVICE SUPPORT Table F1 shows the capabilities of being able to move wounded on the battlefield. If the majority of the casualties occur at the same time, air MEDEVAC will be required to expedite Soldiers evacuation to a Role II Facility. The BSAs Role II Facility can accommodate 40 patients. Aeromedical Evacuation Liaison Teams can be coordinated for through 4th Combat Aviation Brigade S3. Their capabilities for Air MEDEVAC include eight UH-60A Blackhawk helicopters. If Air becomes unavailable units will use nonstandard platforms that are part of the Company Train to move Casualties to the BAS. BCTs are responsible to evacuate casualties from unit area to BAS or Role II BSMC evacuation to Role III will be coordinated for by BCT Medical Surgeon. The projected amount of WIA (Table F2 and F3) shows that 3 ABCT will not exceed the limit of the Role III Medical Facilities at WABASH (164 beds) and STUART (82 beds).
