2. Polynomial factoring A, b, c, d, e….. Are real numbers and “N” is as a positive integer. You have to combine the like terms. Factoring; the opposite of multiplication. Look for common factors. Trinomials and binomials are the most common polynomials meaning they have three terms.
3. Polynomial functi0ns You can either write it as a polynomial or not a polynomial. Polynomials ex: F(x)=1/2X^2+2x-3 F(x)=6x^4-3x^2+2x-5 F(x)=x^12 Not polynomials ex: F(x)= x^-2+5 F(x)=2X^1/2+3x^2-4
4. The a; If you raise the “a” it goes down, right and as you lower the number or “a” it goes up, left. If it’s a polynomial and is shaped like an u as you increase the number its gets wider as it goes to the right and as the number gets smaller it moves to the left and gets wider.
5. Words to know Degree: highest power of x in the standard form Leading coefficient: the coefficient of first term, if they are in descending order. Factored form: f(x)= (x-r1)(x-r2)(x-r3)… Standard form: Everything is multiplied together.
