report here then you have an idea of what you can expect from your cold email
campaigns this year.
Performance Based Benchmarks
Deliverability Rates 80% - 95%
Email Open Rates 60% - 65%
Response Rates 15% - 30%
CTR 0.5% - 3%
Conversation Rates (positively geared) 7% - 12.5% (or 30% - 50% of response
rate)
Spam Rate 0.5% - 1%
Unsubscription Rate 0.5%-1.5%
Note: Remember these are merely averages that we experienced, yours may be different
and will depend on the type of emailing you are doing.
Here are some things to ask yourself
● Is it your campaign automated, or is each email crafted perfectly for your prospect.
● Are you inserting personalization where you can?
● Are you following up with your prospects within 24 hours of them replying?
● Are you following up with then if they are NOT replying?
● Is your subject line less than 55 characters, is personal and in some cases intriguing?
● Are you sending from an authenticated email address / domain using a reputable
email service provider?
● Do you know if the emails on your list have been verified? If not, I suggest you do it to
avoid bounce backs and not harm your server reputation (which in turn will send
more of your emails straight to junk)
● Are you spacing your mail outs so as to not exceed your email limits and get throttled
for suspicious behavior?
● Are you honoring unsubscriptions?
● Are you keeping your emails short (under 5 sentences) with a clear call to action.
