With a lifelong emphasis on helping people struggling with overweight find a connection with God, Gwen Shamblin is a Tennessee church leader who guides Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood. In 1986, Gwen Shamblin felt the call to create The Weigh Down Workshop as a way of helping people of faith lose weight permanently. With a Master's Degree in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee, she began by teaching small classes and offering audiotape lessons. Now 30 years later, Weigh Down Ministries has helped thousands of people lose weight, end addiction, overcome depression and heal relationships.
