product and why?
2. Revolver Entertainment is one of the UK’s (And Eire’s
according to the website) leading production and
distribution companies. It has distributed known films
such as Anuvahood, Chatroom and Kidulthood.
They’ve won awards such as Foreign Language Film of
the year award (though this doesn’t apply to our film)
and UK premiere of the year at the 2010 Screen
International Marketing and Distribution awards.
They’ve also won various awards at the BVA awards
for 6 years. Revolver Entertainment operates in London
and LA.
3. Lionsgate is one of the world’s (so it’s international,
obviously.) leading entertainment companies that
provides services in motion picture production,
distribution, television programming and syndication
(buying programs outside of the network system).
Lions gate has distributed films such as the legend
of bloody Mary, Descendents and Saw II. Lionsgate
have received 26 Emmy nominations this year alone
and have won 7 Emmy awards in the last 10 years.
4. Entertainment films is (according to the website) one of the
UK’s leading independent distributors (like the last two...I
see a pattern forming). One of it’s most famous distributed
films was the Lord of the rings trilogy which received 17
academy awards and has been known for other films such
as Seven and the notebook (any girl’s who read this will
start sobbing just at the name of that film). Entertainment
Films operates in both England and Ireland/Republic of
Ireland.

10. Why?
I chose Revolver Films because not only do they have alot of
experience in films with the same background as our film (British
independent) but they also specialise in obscure/bizarre (?) films
such as ours. I liked the idea of doing promotional stunts as a way of
marketing our film because a film like Esther has a lot of potential to
do something really creative or something really gripping for a
promotional stunt. Example – A satanic ritual (not real of course)
done in the middle of a Market such as Camden (where we assume
alot of our audience would come from) or t-shirts with slogans such
as: “I have an imaginary friend. Do you?” or “If you’re reading this
then you’re on Esther’s list.” As an added bonus this company has
worked with Funding companies before so it would be easy to strike
up a deal for funding of our film. That and the company is based in
London which is one of the main place’s we’d like our film to be
distributed to.
11. Funding for our film.
We have two options for funding of our film:
The UK film council was shut down
in May 2011 because the
Government saw it as an
unnecessary institution however
had it still been in business this This is the institute we would now use to
would have most likely been our fund our film. Most of the functions once

funding for other Psychological Production, Marketisation and Distribution
Thrillers such as Chatroom. which is exactly what we need.
12. Summary -
• The institution (if it were my decision) that I would
have gone with would have been Revolver Films
because this company seems to be the one out of
the three most likely to take our film on. It’d have a
better chance of succeeding because of Revolver’s
past success in Psychological Thrillers.
• We would probably go to the BFI (British Film
Institution) for funding as they have the best offer
giving our circumstances of having no budget to put
towards our film.
