Introduction
3.
4. Touch Design Group was established in
1999 by Ed Tremlett and David Crosby.
Having met at furniture college and
working together in London, in 1999
they set up Devon based furniture
company Touchwood. In 2014 the
company rebranded as Touch Design
Group to reflect a more collaborative
and design-led approach. Today, the
dynamic and constantly expanding
team is currently made up of thirty five
designers, technicians and craftsmen.
Who we are
5.
6. In January 2015 Touch Design Group
moved to its new state-of-the-art
headquarters in Marsh Green Road,
Exeter. With far greater capacity, the
company is now well positioned to take
on both large commercial and smaller
bespoke contracts with ease. Significant
investment in new machinery, combined
with the creation of a new showroom,
materials library and design studio have
all contributed to what has now become
one of the region’s most comprehensive
design and manufacturing facilities.

What we do
10. Every commission offers a unique
challenge and an opportunity to bring
about outstanding design. Our creative
approach enables us to take on
increasingly innovative and progressive
projects, exploring new methods of
making and exciting new materials. Our
talented team of in-house designers
and studio technicians are on hand to
develop new ideas and concepts or
work with existing plans, transforming
ideas into working drawings.
Communication and visualisation of
ideas are critical to the process and to
facilitate this we work with all the latest
software packages including Auto CAD,
Vector Works, Solid Works, Sketch Up
and the Adobe suites.
Design
11. Craftsmanship is our heritage, and as
we embrace technology and all the
possibilities it brings, we recognise
the unique outcomes that derive from
combining both traditional and modern
methods of making. Our highly skilled
team are trained in hand cabinetry,
machine work, carving, vacuum
forming, veneering and wood turning
amongst other processes. We regularly
work with designers and architects
to prototype construction details and
systems. Every project is approached
with the same level of care and
attention to detail that has earned us
a reputation for outstanding work time
and time again.
Craftsmanship
12. Significant investment in technology
- in particular CNC machinery and its
associated software - has enabled
us to take on increasingly ambitious
projects in terms of scale, design
and complexity. With the endless
possibilities that progressions in
technology afford us, our workshops are
able to produce extraordinary results
with an unrivalled level of precision.
Technology
13. Materials
Materials are an integral part of
life at Touch Design Group. A
constant commitment to sourcing
the very best the world has to offer
is fundamental to our approach. Our
comprehensive knowledge - the result
of many years of working with a huge
range of products - enables us to pass
on this information to our clients.
Our materials library is a great place
to explore the variety of products and
finishes available, many of which are
exclusive to Touch Design Group.
Our handpicked group of international
partners give us access to the latest
and best materials on offer from around
the world.
14.
15. Our whole house service provides
clients with the opportunity to have
their entire scheme developed and
manufactured under one roof. This
delivers exceptional levels of continuity
and communication as well as the
opportunity to explore an extraordinary
range of materials and finishes. A
typical brief may include bespoke
joinery, an exquisitely designed and
made kitchen, luxury storage solutions
and one-off furniture pieces. Our
design-led approach considers the
smallest details as important as the big
ones, so throughout the process we
work closely with the client to realise
their brief to its maximum potential.

clients the opportunity to commission
something completely unique. Within
the team we have specialists in
both contemporary and traditional
furniture design as well as a vast
array of material choices, finishes
and manufacturing techniques to help
explore possibilities and refine ideas.
Our products are not limited by our own
manufacturing capabilities: we regularly
work with a variety of partners including
upholsterers, glass specialists, steel
fabricators and stone masons.

21. Our joinery service offers individually
designed and crafted pieces made
to the highest specification. From the
reproduction of historical mouldings
for conservation projects through
to contemporary, weightless, bi-
fold door systems. The scale of
our set up allows us the flexibility
to take on a wide range of projects
with ease. We have an exceptional
portfolio of individually designed
staircases in a myriad of materials
and configurations. We work with
architects and designers from an early
stage to incorporate vital structural
engineering considerations in both
new build and historic properties.

25. Kitchens
Unlike many of our competitors, Touch
Kitchen is not constrained by modular
systems so our clients can literally
have whatever they want. Our kitchen
design studio is headed up by designer
Richard Swift. With over twenty five
years of international experience in
the industry, Richard has developed a
deep understanding of what goes into
creating the ultimate kitchen interior. His
regular trips to Europe in search of the
latest finishes are constantly influencing
his designs, translating into a stunning
portfolio of kitchens, all utterly unique,
exquisitely made and tailored to the
client’s needs.

27.
28.
29. The process starts with listening
to our clients, understanding their
needs and then producing design
focused solutions,tailored to the
end user. Budgets and time-frames
will be discussed and the designs
further refined through a series of
consultations. Once the final drawings
have been approved, a project
manager will be assigned and our
team of technicians will set to work to
ensure that the drawings are workshop
ready. Then our craftsmen begin the
meticulous construction process. Once
completed, our specialist team of
fitters will ensure that the final piece is
installed with the utmost care.
