3. About Founder ,
Mr. Subhrajeet Gautam
A young college student , was driven by the extraordinary dream to see a day
when no child would be deprived of rights as basic as food , cloth , shelter
education, medical security, healthy environment and individual rights
guaranteed by the Constitution of India. Like many of us, Subhrajeet too was
upset when he saw disparities between privileged and underprivileged children.
He never wanted to see children begging and exploited by evils of Child Labour.
Unlike most of us though, he did something about it.
He joined his college social service club and visited slums, children in hospitals,
held teaching classes for street children, and started a used cloth donation
movement at a slum the club adopted.
What I can do, I must do!” These were the words which kept the fire burning
within him and since then acting as a constant source of motivation.
In 2011 Subhrajeet started Umeed a drop of hope with Rs. 1500- around his
mothly pocket money. He felt that something needs to be done to improve the
situation of the underprivileged Indian child. Since the inception of Umeed,
more than 80,000 children have directly benefitted from his initiative.
Subhrajeet’s effort provided the necessity things e.g. clothes, food, medicine and
other basic things to millions of poor and needy people. He always worked
towards nullifying the misbalance caused by us, our society, and people; and urge
the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Realize" mentality in living our daily lives here
on our beautiful planet Earth. His initiative makes our youth a more respectful,
proud, and conscious, sensible character, which will enable them to be even more
valuable and appreciated members of our society. And will help to pave the way
for a much better present and future for all.

‘UMEED’ is a voluntary organization aimed at mobilizing community efforts for the welfare of slum &
rural people. Umeed is a registered non-government organization (Registered under the societyAct XXI,
1860 as a national NGO with regn. No. 792) working with more than 20,000 volunteers in 7 states of
India (Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, MadhyaPradesh
, Uttar Pradesh , Bihar, Jharkhand & Delhi).
The Organization is implementing various welfare programs in North India with head office in Delhi.
Umeed promotes sustainable and equitable slum & rural development with a team of dedicated social
workers, activists andvolunteers.
Umeed has been actively engaged in creating awareness about education and health among slum and
rural people . The organization deals with other social issues such as environment , road safety, Drug
de-addiction etc . Its main concern is to empower the marginalized family and focuses primarily on
childrens to make them self –reliant.

6. PROJECT : KNOWLEDGE FOR ALL
“ Slavery is one of the worst forms of violence as it is the denial of education . Education is key to liberating children from
slavery.” –Kailash Satyarthi
 Knowledge for all (KFA) is a national level program of Umeed a drop of hope, which is committed to provide basic education and healthcare to
underprivileged children. Umeed believes that whether you are addressing healthcare, poverty, population control, unemployment or human
rights, there's no better place to start than in the corridors of education.
 Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life; means, because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end
because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behavior to understanding one's rights, and in
the process evolve as a better citizen.
 Umeed works for education for needy children who are under difficult circumstances, such as child labour, children of poorest of the parents,
children inflicted and affected with HIV/AIDS, street and runaway children, children with rare disabilities, disaster struck children and slum children.
 Special emphasis is given on girl education and women education, so that they and their families get empowered. Since its inception in 2011,
more than 80,000 children have directly benefitted from our Knowledge for all (KFA) program. Last Year's Impact: 14,660 children directly provided
with education , 72% of the total eligible students mainstreamed , 61% of the beneficiaries were girl children , 833 school drop-outs resumed
education.
 No one can shut the ray of hope which we empower in other’s lives. Even this pandemic couldn't stop us from working. We have made sure no
child should be deprived from his/her education just because they don’t have the right resources.

8. ● Paridhan- This is a philanthropic activity that requests clothing donations from community & college
students.
● Sometimes one person's waste can be another person's wealth.
● OBJECTIVE :- To provide the basic needs to millions of underprivileged children & needy people.
● Focuses on 4R's principle :-
Reduce :- Bring down the use of non -Biodegradable fabrics, plastic toys etc.
Reuse :- Donate your books, clothes & toys to needy children who can't afford it.
Recycle :- Collect recyclable materials like newspapers, books from neighbourhood.
Realize :- Now realize due to your small effort you have brought smiles to many faces.
Poor childrens are the future of humanity,
But many of them are living in poverty.
Without shelter homeless on the streets,
Helped by project PARIDHAN with well greets !!

9. Objective
1.Project Go Green aimed at protecting and sustaining our environment .It is an initiative of Umeed, a drop of hope to
save the environment through tree plantation and adoption by the public as well as corporate participation and support. It
provides a common platform and involves youth in social and environmental causes & activities and makes them
understand the importance of Environment and how the power of youth and togetherness can contribute and bring
positive changes in our society and Mother Nature.
2.What we do
We plant donated plants by people and corporates in various places of need through our dedicated partners across India
under our proper guidance.We also conduct tree plantation drives across Delhi and suburbs in Housing Societies,
Corporates Parks, Schools, Colleges, open grounds, barren lands and such any other available locations throughout the
year.We organize discussion, presentation and talk on Green sustainable Leadership, Sustainable future, Green Idea,
Human chain for cause and many other activities as per needs and requirements.
3.Taking care of plants
Apart from plantation, a plant needs love and care like a baby until it is self-sustainable.As we found, most people forget
about the plants after plantation and that is why their survival rate is very low.So resolve this problem by taking care of
plants manually as well as through different technical methods such as installation of automated watering system through
“Drip Irrigation” which makes it easy to water the plants and save water and time.
This initiative makes our youth a more respectful, proud, and sensible character, which will enable them to be even more
valuable and appreciated members of our society. And the entire process would pave the way for greener tomorrow.
