4. BBCThe production company that will handle the production is Castle Rock Entertainment they are a large producer of thriller films such as The Shawshank Redemption.
4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

The target audience for our production would mostly be adults but may also receive interest from people in their late teens the age range will probably be 15-30 year old as they make up the majority of film audiences especially for thriller films which usually have a minimum rating of 15 with the occasional one being a 12A. The film is aimed to be a 15 so would be too inappropriate for young children. Most thrillers are aimed at men, so it would most probably receive a larger male audience. However the female killer could attract more interest from a female audience.
5. How did you attract/address your target audience?
Our production attracts the audience by leaving many questions unanswered like why is she taking photos of the boy in the park, what is she doing with the pictures of them on her laptop and who is the girl pushing the boy on the swing.
-89535057150We put our production up on Facebook to receive feedback from other users. We asked them 5 questions to answer so that we could receive feedback on many specific elements of the film to see how it could be improve
the future to make it more to our audience’s liking.
-895350-95250281940047625
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

While constructing this short film I learnt many new skills. I developed my editing skills using iMovie HD, this was my first time using this software but I would now say that I would be comfortable using it again and reckon I would be able to use other editing software without having to learn how to use it. This showed me how to use cuts, transitions, add music, add sound effects, create still shots and titling together to create a more professional looking film.
I also learnt how to create a blog using BlogSpot, add new posts/embed videos on it and follow others which was a new experience for me.
I learnt how to use a video camera and a tripod to create our film using different camera techniques and angles i also learnt how to upload the video to the computer for editing.
7. Looking back at your preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Since the preliminary task I learnt a lot more about editing. I was able to experiment with the titles a lot more to find a set we were all happy with. I also learnt how to add in transitions more effectively to make the production look more proffessional than the preliminary task. Sound effects was something that we hadn’t used in the prelimanary task so adding them in was new to me when it came to the production of our film, before in our preliminary task sound effects weren’t need because there was no music so all of the sound was recorded on the camera. However in our production the sound from the camera had to be taken out as we needed to put in music through the whole production so when it came to the click for the camera it had to be added seperateley over the music. To replicate the effect of using a camera i had to add in still shots after each click of the camera to make the audience feel they were looking through the camera this hadn’t been done in the preliminary task and i found was most difficult as the timing had to be perfect otherwise it wouldn’t work in the film.
