Definition
❖ Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging
architecture that is dynamic, manageable, cost-effective,
and adaptable, making it ideal for the high-bandwidth,
dynamic nature of today’s applications.

❖ OpenFlow is a communications protocol that gives
access to the forwarding plane of a network switch or
router over the network

is decoupled from forwarding functions.

administrators dynamically adjust network-

software-based SDN controllers that maintain a
