This intensive 3 day, thirty (30) hour course was designed to indoctrinate and familiarize persons
with the essential duties, common tasks, and intelligence-based skills required to work as a
member of a Protective Security Detail (PSD) deployed overseas in high threat environments.
Course tuition covers the following; airport shuttle pick up, overnight lodging, meals, Certificates of
Competency, multi-state Concealed Carry Weapon Certification, and the production of training
report cards.
This course is unique when compared to any other Close Protection/Bodyguard training programs
on the market for the following reasons:
This is NOT a firearms course. Therefore, you will not waste time learning how to become
a better shooter. However, you will shoot and qualify on the Glock pistol and M4 carbine
(based on WPS/WPPS standards).
You will not waste time practicing jumping out of vehicles shooting back at imaginary
insurgents or terrorist. In reality, the last thing a PSD team should do when ambushed or
taking small arms fire is jump out of the vehicle and engage in a fire fight.
You will be introduced to official US Army and State Department WPS/WPPS training
curriculum.
CERTIFICATION
Successful course graduates will receive; a Certificate of Competency, a detailed Tactical Skill
Assessment Report Card, a Pistol and Carbine Certificate of Proficiency (based on State
Department WPS/WPPS standards), Completion of Multi-state Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW)
permit application, a Certificate of Emergency First Aid/CPR Training, and assistance in putting
together all required new hire documents that every employer is looking for when making a hire
decision.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION
To earn a Protective Security Specialist (PSS) Certificate of Competency the course attendee
must satisfy the following requirements:
1) Pass live-fire weapons qualification testing to WPS/WPPS standards using the Glock
pistol and M-4/AR-15 carbine.
2) Pass a Timed 1.5 Mile Run
3) Complete 45 push-ups in 2 minutes or less.
4) Complete 45 sit-ups in 2 minutes or less.
5) Complete 6 pull-ups/chin-ups in one minute.
6) Pass the ICAP (Independent Contractor Assessment of Performance).
The ICAP™ is unique to Hostile Control Tactics. ICAP gives us the ability us to measure,
evaluate and determine the deployment readiness of an individual. A course attendee
must participate in; full scale mock PSD missions, demonstrate a sound working
knowledge of PSD mission planning, demonstrate safe and effective weapon handling
during high stress CQB force-on-force role play.
GEAR TO BRING
Personal comfort and flexibility is the emphasis. Recommended attire includes; gym/work out shirts,
polo shirts and cargo pants, blue jeans, or Docker™ style slacks). Keep in mind, your pants must
