•   Visit the newsroom.
•   Get to know the managing editor.
•   Get to know the reporter who covers your
    industry.
•   Put reporters and editors on mailing lists.

• Identify a media spokesperson, and a
  backup.
• Do mock interviews, especially when
  trouble is brewing.
• Update your Media Action Plan yearly.
