Beijing Fashion – Eclectic Inconsistency
Eclectic in the sense of ensembles
pieced together by garments from a
diverse range of :
Colors
Fabrications
Seasons
Inconsistent as seen from person to
person. There was no overall sense of
Beijing fashion, when compared to
the American “Prep” look, for
example. The inconsistency was
Beijing’s fashion.
Located in North Eastern China, the
climate of Beijing is dry and hot
during the summer months.

Shanghai Fashion – International Conservative
& Anti-fit
International: Shanghai fashion is
heavily influenced by its position as a
highly international city. Having a
history with France, Germany and the
U.K, Shanghai has developed a flavor of
European style.
Conservative: From personal
experience, Shanghai men and women
are more conservative in dress and
their approach.
Anti-fit: The anti-fit trend is also very
popular for the Shanghainese. Clothes
employ many pleats, drop crotches, and
draping.
Located in China’s Central East,
Shanghai’s climate is hot and humid
during the summer months.

Hong Kong Fashion – Manhattan
You may chuckle upon viewing my
description of Hong Kong fashion;
however, it is such an international
city that its style is very much like
Manhattan.
Numerous trends with very
individualistic interpretations.
Bohemian, Vintage Levi’s, Ivy
League, are all notable
Located in Southern China, Hong
Kong’s climate is hot and humid.
