1. April 2015
Message from Dinah Snow
President, ICF Colorado
ICF-Colorado Wins the 2014 ICF Breaking Barriers Award for
Our “Unleashing the Authentic Leader Within” Conference!
Six ICF Chapters were presented with 2014
ICF Chapter Awards at a March 5, 2015,
ceremony held during the ICF Global
Leaders Forum 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia,
USA. (Yes, ICF Global flew all the chapter
leaders, myself included, in from all over
the world for this amazing 2-day forum.)
ICF Singapore, ICF Argentina and ICF
Hungary were recognized with the I Care
For Award, while ICF Washington State,
ICF Colorado and ICF New Mexico took
home Breaking Barriers Awards. Read the
press release announcing the winners here.
I want to personally acknowledge and appreciate our committee
members, conference participants, Board members, sponsors and
Red Rocks who all played key roles in making our first ever
conference a rockin’ success! It takes a team and authentic
leadership to raise the bar on what we can accomplish as an
organization, raise awareness of coaching in the community, and
elevate the coaching profession!
I have so much more I want to share with you about the content of
the forum, the connections made and the ideas that were
generated, and I promise to do that at our April meeting.
Congratulations ICF Colorado!

April 2015: Monthly Meeting
Date: April 9, 2015
Time: 6:00PM - 9:00PM
Presenter: Todd Musselman
Topic: "Creating Opportunity … One Conversation at a Time"
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will be conducted from 6:00PM -
6:50PM before the general meeting.
Location:
PPA Event Center, 2105 Decatur Street, Denver, CO 80211
CCEUs: TBD
The focus for this presentation is on creating a mindset of personal
ownership to optimize the results we produce both personally and
professionally. To do this, we will focus on the owner/victim
distinction to illuminate the profound difference between reacting to
life (the victim mindset) vs. creating your life (the ownership
mindset) and the effect each mindset has on one’s performance as a
coach and in life.
The presentation is drawn from experiences (good, bad and yes the
ugly too) in creating a thriving coaching practice. I will detail the
area? Let us know:

have failed … miserably. The presentation will benefit each
participant in the areas of communication, accountability, presence,
integrity and service. It is a fun, interactive and highly motivational

TEST YOUR APPROACH TO YOUR TARGET MARKET: FEEDBACK
SESSION
We will discuss how to design and align our Approach, Framework
and Process to meet the needs of our Target Market.
If you are open to test your ideas with the group and to receive
constructive feedback, come ready to share, from your Business
Plan: Your Company's Target Market, and What Sets Your Company
Apart.
In addition, develop a statement of:
5. 1. Your understanding of where the client is now (A) and where they
want to be (B)
2. The Framework -- your theoretical approach -- how you and the
client can best assess and get to the root cause of the gap between
A and B
3. The Process -- the structure, steps and content that helps the
client get where they want to be.
To support you in this assignment, Review in Guerrilla Marketing for
Coaches, by Levinson and Neitlich, Pages 29-32, "Understand the

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Dido Clark
From my earliest days, I‘ve been interested in listening to
people’s stories. I remember writing down playground songs
aged six. Since then my life has revolved around both
understanding stories and renewal after reversals.
As an anthropology professor, I have taught what authentic
wellbeing and resilience looks like in different cultures around
the world. Eventually, I became certified as a life coach. I
continue to study the science of positive psychology and
evidence-based approaches to flourishing and full
self-expression, even with struggles and setbacks. As a
Quaker, I take a more soulful approach to life and listen
carefully for the inner voice within us all.

Membership in the ICF Colorado: New Member Sponsors Needed
As the Membership Director, it is my hope that new members are welcomed into our Chapter and
quickly find a home in our "family." To ensure this happening well, we are starting an experiment
called New Member Sponsors. A new member sponsor is someone who has been in the Chapter for
perhaps a year or more who will help welcome a new member and make sure they become
integrated into the life of the Chapter. For the first few months, the sponsor will befriend the new
member, become acquainted, introduce him or her to others in the Chapter, explain the various
benefits and programs of the Chapter, and perhaps have coffee or lunch with the person.
If you have been a member of our Chapter for a year or more, please consider becoming a New
Member Sponsor. It is a four-month commitment to make friends with someone and ensure that
they become actively involved in the Chapter. You will be provided with some orientation and
suggestions on how to best sponsor someone. Please contact Walt Hastings to express your
interest in welcoming new members. Call Walt at 303-526-9490 or e-mail him at
walthastings@hotmail.com.
Why Join ICF Colorado?
* A community of individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of their clients.
* Connect with other coaches.
* Become engaged in the work of learning together and creating a strong community.
7. * Receive valuable training each month that you can directly apply to your life or work with clients.
