ICP DAS USA provides Power Meters for Energy Management systems which help with monitoring power consumption and energy usage. They can be used with Touch Screen PLC’s, data loggers, Programmable Automation Controllers, and PC’s running SCADA software. Energy monitoring information can help save on costs since changes can be made to reduce energy usage when it’s not needed. SCADA control and monitoring software can display the data in a way that’s easy to understand and analyze.

11. Important Notice
Unless a load (i.e. meters, relays, etc.) is connected to the CT,
current transformers should always be shorted across the
secondary terminals. The reason is very high voltages will be
induced at the terminals.

It also supports Built-in Web Server which allows to set up parameters of the front-end power meters and view power data via browsers. It can immediately display power data in real-time trend or historical trend, also offers power data report generator function.
Download and export the report as excel file for further analysis.
When you introduce or help clients to select power meters, here are some critical points you can refer to:
1. Phase type & loop?
2. CTs or Not?
3. What secondary signal output they need to measure?
4. The length of wire lead?
If the model NAME contains “P” in the last latter, it means that it is compatible with CTs from 50 to 1200V/ 333mV output.
Another key point of CTs is the inside diameter. When you recommend power meter for clients, besides the current, make sure the inside diameter of CTs must be bigger than the power line.
There are three types of CTs according to the way to install them.
1. Solid Core CTs: it is 800A:5A current ratio. The secondary output signal is 1A or 5A. This type of CTs are placed over conductor prior inserting in the breaker. Normally you need to shutdown the power, split out the power line and re-run through the CTs.
2. Clip on (Hinged) CTs: it is 300A:5A current ratio. It is easy to install and very convenient. Users only need to open the clip, place around conductor and snap closed. This type of CT is included in our PM-3133-XXX, PM-3112-XXX and PM-3114-XXX series.
You can figure out the difference between PM-3133-100 and PM-303 from this slide.
PM-3133-100 includes a selected regular CT.
PM-3033 contains a built-in CT inside the power meter and it can connect to 5A secondary output of the solid Core CT. When users do not need our selected CTs and they want to wire directly from power meter to 5A secondary output of the solid Core CT, you may suggest PM-3033 to them.
3. Flexible CTs: This type of CT is used to measure big current and the installation circumstance is difficult. It is the most expensive one among these three types of CTs.
Reference Power Input: Originally you may need 8 reference power inputs, but now you only need one if use PM-4324
Power Supply: Directly use AC power supply. An extra 24VDC power supply is not needed
