companies with a ratio of one company to every ten inhabitants (the higher
percentage in Italy).
The strong points of the Ancona business world are: an innate inclination for
business and innovation, extensive know-how, skilled workers and business and
system flexibility.
Alongside a number of large companies that have achieved standards of
excellence, renowned and appreciated the world over, the system is rich in small
and medium-sized enterprises, real prime movers of both the provincial and
regional economies.
Numerous are the small workshops, which represent about 30% of the total
number of provincial enterprises and 70.65% of the manufacturing companies
technologically advanced and able to blend innovation with tradition.
