audiences’ attention, therefore they should be included in the

investigation. It is simply the forms and formats the representation
and presentation of visual data that have evolved over these

Pros Cons
Time and cost saving; for example, when
action is required to be taken immediately it
is the best to transmit an information orally.
Not much resource required for it to be

It is more powerful mode of presentation.
Through oral presentation the presenter can
persuade and clarify more on the subject
matter.
Probability of omitting main subject; sometimes main
subject may be omitted in the research findings.

Pros Cons
Easy presentation of complex matter; the written
report is the best way to present the complex
matter easily and attractive. Through written
presentation on can accurately and clearly
present findings/information. There is less
misinterpretations on the findings written.
The written reports are expensive and time
consuming. It is time consuming media for both
the writer and the reader. There is no direct
relation between the writer and the reader.

Easy to preserve and they are permanent record; the
written reports lasts for a long period of time, when
important information needed can be easily
collected form the preserved documents.
Cons
Useless for non targeted audience; the written
reports focus only the targeted audience who wants
the information/findings.
The written reports can also be used as a reference
when needed.
Delay in response; written reports takes much time
to get responses, obviously decision makers cannot
take decision quickly.

Pros Cons
Visual attraction; thus it transmit the findings easily
to the targeted audience.
Difficult to make corrections/adaptations; once a
poster is printed it is less flexible to make
corrections.
The poster presents itself, the presence of the
author is not necessary.
Time consuming; in terms of preparing, it
consumes a lot of time designing the presentation
of findings

research findings
• Research findings can introduce new concepts.The researchers
can generate new concepts about the certain issue through the
research findings.The findings gives the target audience a room
to get the knowledge of new concepts.
• The research findings can be used as the catalyst to broaden the
understandings about the kind of solutions to be considered and
most appropriate to pursue.There might be a vast of solutions
to the problems but not knowing which re the better solutions,
therefor through research findings the audience may be able to
recognise which are the better solutions to their problems

because this is how the target audience will be able to understand

further for decision making process.

teams pursuing the uptake of research findings.
• Each dissemination form has different strengths and weaknesses
in reaching audiences and therefore for effective end results the
researcher may be using more than one form and tools.
