HPE: 2016 Dense Low Power Microserver Market Leader
IT BRAND LEADER
PROFILE
2016 Dense Low Power Microserver Market Overview
In the era of private and public clouds, the efficient use of data center infrastructure
has taken center stage. One result is the trend towards use of dense low power
microservers for scale-out applications such as web servers, content delivery, and
analytics using distributed databases. Mixed workloads running on virtual machines
are well-matched to general purpose processors. However, large numbers of servers
dedicated to specialized workloads are better served with microservers featuring low-
power SoCs optimized for scaling with less space, power and management cost.
HPE Voted Market Leader for Second Year
In 2013, HPE introduced Moonshot, a bold and ambitious re-imagination of high-density
microserver architecture. In 2016, the innovative computing platform remains miles ahead
of the competition in terms of system design, ecosystem development and revenue
market share. The results of the 2016 brand leader survey reflect these circumstances as
HPE Moonshot extended its lead by receiving almost 70% of the IT pro votes for market
leader.
HPE Brand Values Which Stand Out
Just like the last survey in 2014, HPE swept the votes for all six categories of brand leadership: market, price,
performance, reliability, service & support, and innovation. The highest scores were for reliability leader and service &
support leader, indicating those values define market leadership in a data center environment where customers may
be relying on hundreds of servers packaged in a single chassis.
