Our polyhouse flower products mainly consist of cut flowers and pot plants.
The important floricultural crops in the international cut flower trade are roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums, and Floriculture crops like gerberas, carnations, etc. are grown in greenhouses.
The flower quality of polyhouse is excellent and it has a very high demand in the International market but the thing is farmers or people are not able to connect with the international market.

Our company's aim is to produce better quality flowers and pot flowers in control condition And selling.
We mainly focus on Rose flower cultivation.

The products from India have garnered attention from international markets. The favourable climatic conditions for floriculture in the valley.
high returns for floriculture products have encouraged people to invest in floriculture but if we have to record significant presence in International market and in places like Europe, USA & Middle East, we need to cultivate flowers that meet the stringent quality norms that most of the countries have and also cultivate quality value-added products which remain in high demand in the international markets.

  3. 3. Introduction Our polyhouse flower products mainly consist of cut flowers, pot plants. The important floricultural crops in the international cut flower trade are rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, Floriculture crops like gerberas, carnation, etc. are grown in green houses. 4. 4. Greenhouse GREEN HOUSE A greenhouse is a structure with walls and roof made chiefly of transparent material, such as glass, in which plants requiring regulated climatic conditions are grown. These structures range in size from small sheds to industrial-sized buildings. A miniature greenhouse is known as a cold frame. The interior of a greenhouse exposed to sunlight becomes significantly warmer than the external ambient temperature, protecting its contents in cold weather. Many commercial glass greenhouses or hothouses are high tech production facilities for vegetables or flowers. The glass greenhouses are filled with equipment including screening installations, heating, cooling, lighting, and may be controlled by a computer to optimize conditions for plant growth.
  5. 5. Cost of greenhouse Construction and profit In India, Greenhouse concept is picking up due to controlled cultivation under less area with higher yields compared to open land cultivation. Initial investment cost would be high in greenhouse cultivation. However there is an option for going for loan/subsidy in case of constructing a greenhouse. To reduce the initial cost, we can prefer to go for low cost or low tech greenhouse where simple structure is constructed with local materials like bamboos, wood etc. This is our initial model later we gonna stablish high cost greenhouse for better production.
  6. 6. • Suitable agro climatic c o n d i t i o n s . • G o od s o il Q ua lit y • T e a m w o r k Strength • Lack of Experience • Absence of marketing l i n k a g e s . • Lack of cold storage f a c i l i t i e s . 7. 7. Following are the main project components Procuring land needed. (Selecting a site location is very important, choosing a site near by local market is a good idea) Setting up or constructing the greenhouse (includes material). Procuring planting material. Procuring Irrigation material. Procuring fertilization system. Procuring grading and packing area. Procuring refrigerated van. Procuring office equipment. Procuring Import of technology. Labour charges for setting up all above components. Hiring technical manpower. Procuring Pesticides, Fertilizers and preservatives.
  8. 8. There are 2 types cost components involved in greenhouse cultivation 1) Fixed cost component – Permanent items cost. For example, land cost, greenhouse construction material /irrigation/other required material. 2) Recurring Cost— plantation cost, cultivation, maintenance/labour, storage, packing & transport costs.
  9. 9. Cost chart is for one hectare greenhouse to produce Rose cut flowers. No. Items involved Amount in Indian Rupees (lakhs) 1. Land and development cost 4.0 2. Green house cost 13.0 3. Cold storage cost 10.0 4. Grading and packing room cost 5.0 5. Office area cost 2.5 6. Refrigerated van cost 1.0 7. Generator set cost 2.0 8. Fax, telephone, Computer cost 1.0 9. Furniture cost 0.5 10. Power supply installations cost 2 11. Water supply system, drip irrigation and misting liners cost 6.0 12. Planting materials and planting cost 30.0 Total fixed cost of the green house 77 lakhs
  10. 10. Recurring costs details are given below. No. Items Involved Amount in Indian Rupees ( lakhs) 1. Electricity charges / year 6.0 2. Manures and fertilizers cost 1.0 3. Plant protection cost 1.0 4. Preservatives cost 3.0 5. Packing material cost 2.0 6. Air freight charges 125.0 7. Labour charges 3.0 8. Commission / duty/ insurance cost 15.0 9. Salaries for employees 5.0 10. Overhead costs 0.5 11. Maintenance cost 1.0 12. Miscellaneous costs 4 Total recurring cost in greenhouses cultivation 166.5
  11. 11. Total investment for setting up and maintaining the greenhouse project = Fixed cost + Recurring cost = 77 + 166.5 in first year= 243.5 (2 crore 43 lakhs and 50 thousands rupees).
  12. 12. Now let us look into the project yield Quantity of rose plants per hectare of greenhouse = 60,000 Quantity of rose flowers expected per plant = 100 to 150 Quantity of exportable quality rose flowers /plant = 60 to 100 Price per rose flower in international market = Rs. 6 to 11 Total quantity of exportable flowers per hectare @ 100 flowers /plant = 60 lakhs flowers Gross income through exports @ 50 flowers/plant = 300 lakhs (3 crores) (minimum).
  13. 13. Facts about Flower Export from India • Indian roses grown in our country have biggest demand in Europe and United kingdom. • Indian Society of Florulture Professionals have estimated that flowers exported from India across the world are worth around 30 crore. • During the time of Valentine's day and Christmas, Flower export from India is at peak specially for beautiful Indian roses. • Ghodawat Agro group also known for sending three lakh stems of flowers every day to Indian market as well as Export market is planning to set up a floriculture project in goa aiming to construct biggest orchid farms in the world.
