This decision comes on the heels of an amendment passed by the House of Representatives that restored Second Amendment rights in Washington D.C. because it deprived funding allocated to enforcing the District’s draconian firearms laws. The city will most likely appeal Scullin’s ruling, but for now police officers are not to enforce prior gun control laws.
