You will find a bus and a guide waiting for you at Cagliari

the occupation of several civilisations (Rome, Catalunya,
Spain, Pisa, Piedmont). It was the capital of the Kingdom of
Sardinia (which in the 1861 became the Kingdom of Italy) from
1324 to 1720 and from 1798 to 1815. Seat of the important
University of Cagliari and the Primate Roman Catholic
archdiocese of Sardinia, the city is an important regional
cultural, educational, political and artistic centre, known for its
diverse Art Nouveau architecture and several monuments. It is
also Sardinia's economic and industrial hub, having one of the
biggest ports in the Mediterranean sea, an international airport,
and the 28th highest income rate in Italy, comparable to
several Northern cities, such as Turin, Vicenza and Genoa.
The tour will start with a few stops with photo opportunities at
Poetto beach (the closest and most popular beach to Cagliari,
with its 8 kilometres of sand), Basilica of Bonaria (built in the
early 14th century) and Monte Urpinu park, with its beautiful
panorama. Then you will reach the city centre of Cagliari. Here
you have to leave the bus and continue on foot along the
panoramic area of viale Buon Cammino. Then, through the
gate Porta Cristina you will enter the historical area. You will
walk through the narrow streets of the barrio where you will
admire the tower of San Pancrazio, the Cathedral dedicated to
Santa Maria, the Vice-Roy palace and the archbishop's seat.
The last stop will be the Bastion of Saint Remy: the
monumental building realized in white limestone of Bonaria.

the town, via Manno and via Garibaldi where you will have a
shopping stop.

you will have to chance to have a fully guided tour of the ruins
of the ancient city of Nora. According to the legend , Nora was
founded by a group of Iberians led by Norax , a mythological
hero son of Eriteide and the god Hermes. It is believed to be
the first town founded in Sardinia and to have been settled by
the ancient Sherden or the Nuraghi people, however after
colonization by Phoenicians and a period of domination by
Carthage the town came under Roman control after the
conquest of Sardinia in 238 BC. At 12:30 you will be back in
Cagliari and have a nice walk for some shopping. Then you’ll

You will find a bus and a guide waiting for you at Cagliari
harbour. After about 1 hour drive you will reach Barumini,
where you will visit the most famous Nuraghi complex. A
nuraghe (plural: Nuraghi) is a monumental tower made of huge
stones roughly worked. A nuraghe might stand as a single
tower or several nuraghi might be joined together as a complex
of many towers with connecting structures and walls. Either
form might show remnants of a village in the immediate vicinity.
This amazing type of fortress can only be found in Sardinia:
there are over 7000 examples of it on the island. The
Megolithic Towers belong to a Bronze Age Culture that lived
about 3000 years ago. The Settlement located near the village
of Barumini is called Su Nuraxi: it includes a main tower and
four smaller ones connected to each other by a containing wall
which also forms a raised courtyard; the entire complex is
protected by another wall and seven towers. After a fully
guided visit of the complex, you will have lunch at the
Restaurant next to the site. After lunch, you will leave Barumini
to reach the Giara di Tuili: a beautiful plateau well-known
thanks to its typical wild little horses with almond eyes. There
are about 600, all of them wild and free. This breed was
probably imported from the far East. Adapted on the table-
lands since long time ago, they live in small herds constituted
of a dominant male and from 4 to 10/12 females with their
respective colts. At 4:00 PM you will take the bus back to
Cagliari.

Tower of S. Pancrazio, the Tower of the Elephant, the Piazza
Palazzo with the beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria, and the
Palace of the Prefect, once residence of the Viceroy Carlo
Alberto.
After having reached the Terrace Umberto I, that surmounts
the Bastion of S. Remy, you will descend the stairs in direction
Via Roma for a lunch break in one of the many restaurants of
the central quarter of the city. Upon leaving the city, you will
pass in front of the Basilica of Bonaria, dedicated to the
sailors’ protector.
The second destination of our tour is then the village of S.
Sperate, about 20 minutes drive from Cagliari. It is often called
the “Museum Town”, and it is a continuous discovering of
