More than 55% of women are the victims.
Rape and Sexual Harassment – India ranked
third among the world in rape cases!!!
In India every 20minute a girl is raped.
Female Infanticide – Worst crime ever one
can think of!!!
India lost 3million girls in the last decade.
There has been a great misbalance in the sex ratio.
Education and Women – No stepping stone
for the girl child!!!
53% of girls in the age group of 5-9 years are illiterate.
Financial Status –
Just 35% of women are financially independent in
IndiaAbove statistics clearly shows
lacking of women empowerment
in all India.
3. Supporting women through a network of committees all over India
Overview of the solution proposed
ACTION PLAN WOMEN FOR WOMEN NECESSITY OF
COMMITTEE
Network of sub-committees
headed by a central committee
The sub-committees will work at
district level.
A counselling cell will be setup to
tackle the problems of women in
every committee.
Around 1500 people will be a
part of this committee
accompanied by volunteers.
These committees will
collaborate with the NGO's
and government organisations
already working for women
empowerment.
About a thousand women will
be actively involved in committee
activities.
Women belonging to all the
sectors of society ( rural and
urban ) will be a part of this
committee.
Women belonging to different
professions would also contribute
to working of this committee.
All the critical(sensitive) cases
will be handled by the women
members.
Many women are not able to
file cases due to their financial
incapability .This committee will
be female dominated which will
handle such cases effectively
Moreover volunteers from
different parts of the country will
be of immense help.
It will reduce prevailing
financial dependence of women
by employing them . Yes! they
will be given salaries for working.
It will promote education of girl
child especially in rural areas.

There will be a network of about
two lakhs dedicated volunteers.
Such a huge man force will ensure
healthy functioning of the
committee.
8. Work done for the society
Work on changing the mentality of people.
Keep check on crimes against women and help abolish these crimes.
As many cases are not filed due to mental trauma they have to face and also because of
financial incapability ,the committee will provide emotional as well as financial support in
such cases.
Promote education and sports especially for girls. It will make students learn on how to
protect oneself in case of dangerous situations like of forced sex and rape.
Committee members will approach the people personally and find their problems and will
try to work upon it.
Sexual harassment and torture cases in homes would be abolished by these personal
attentions given specially to the members.
Their would be sessions with region heads such as village panchayats and school teachers and
experienced members of society and share their views with them to remove superstitions
from society
A regular visit to schools and various public sectors where women are employed along with
men
Will highlight the major problems among the media and approach the district courts to
make sure that proper standards are maintained.
When any one will seek help from the committee ,it’ll will make sure that they does not go
through any pressure by family or the society.
9. Innovative plans concerning safety
Women involved in night shifts will get registered
along with their cab number with the committee
offices.
Every women will be provided or asked to have a
mobile phone having SOS button in it ,so that in case
of emergency she can immediately send a message.
Volunteers will help learn about using SOS phones in
rural/remote areas.
10. Budget plans:
Budget would be around 70 cr (annually).
50% of the money would be provided by
government .
Rest of the money would be gathered from
Funding sources include membership dues, the
sale of goods and services, private sector for-
profit companies, philanthropic foundations and
private donations.
A fraction of money would be invested in
development schemes & rest would be used for
paying wages.
