2. Introduction
The country like India where more than 50% of
the population do not have private place to
defecate and around 9.7cr.. people don’t have
access to safe drinking water is a matter of
serious concern .
As we know that when there is no private
place to defecate, people have to go and
defecate in the bushes.
3. And in the absence of safe drinking water people
have to travel long way from home spending
there valuable time in search of water than
earning money . As we all know in most of the
rural and urban world around the country women
have the responsibility of providing food and
water . So they are the main sufferers.
The main problem is the lack of substantial
investment in infrastructure means ,the present
infrastructure is not capable of supporting the
demands of nation’s growing population.
4. Sanitation
The main problem related to the sanitation in
our country is also related to the mindset of
people as an indian we know that people have
this habbit of spitting anywhere they like and
throwing wrappers and used chips plastic
packets wherever they are done eating .
Government of india already have the sanitation
and healthcare department but they are
inefficient till date .
The lack of proper infrastructure leads to
sanitation problem.
5. Water
Lack of supply of drinking water in rural and semi-
urban areas.
Poor management of the country’s water resources.
The process of waste water management is not
properly implemented in any part of the country.
Large amount of water is wasted during
tranportation and improper storing by the civic
bodies .
6.
7. Solution
So to make the indian population aware about the
need of the proper sanitation and pure drinking
water the govt. of india must include various
ngo’s working in different parts of the country for
the same cause so as to extend their hand
further.
The blame game is the harsh reality of india so the
working of vorious govt. department should be
synchronised so as to make them more efficient.
8. Special efforts should be made to improve , upgrade and
maintain the infrastructure in the country.
To improve the sanitation level in the country the
municipal corporation should separate the domestic
waste into recyclable and non-recyclable waste and
proper disposal of non recyclable waste should be
done.
Urbanisation is an important process to improve
sanitation in the country .
Rain water harvesting should be given imp. To improve
the under ground water level of the country.
9. The sewage treatment plant should revamped in
the country as some are as old as the colonial
era.
Strict environment laws should be made to save the
fresh water resources of the country and save any
further degaradation of water resources .
Projects to save the rivers of the country like Project
Ganga should be implemented forcefully .
Projects like jal abhiyaan are launched in the
country to create awareness about water scarcity
but fail due to lack of political will.
10. Civic bodies should assess their equipment on a
regular basis as large amount of water is
wasted on day to day bases .
