Backpackers offer superior online travel
experience with a lot of features making travel
planning feasible. Our team will ensure that the
person gets the best travel experience when
travelling using Backpackers.
The Backpackers app was launched with an idea of
easing out the travelling experience of people.
The app is made available for both Android and
iOS.
The app comprises of features such as a basic
online booking facility of hotels and mode of
transport such as flights, trains, buses, cabs, etc.
It also comes up with an in-built map, a personal
assistant to help the user with doubts and a
mobile wallet which can be used in the case when
there’s no hard cash left in wallet!
In the market overview of Backpackers, we will
throw some light on the opportunities and threats
of its business plan.

alternative ways to travel and explore the

 Newly emerging online booking portals with better
offerings
The target customers will be families and
students who go out on trips usually and will also
target businessmen who go on short business trips
in order to get hold of the market as much as
possible. Backpackers intend to provide exclusive
offers for their loyal customers thereby
rewarding its customers for their loyalty.
Backpackers is launched with features somewhat
similar to that of Make my trip and Airbnb combined
along with an addition of a map feature, a personal
assistant and a quick mobile wallet.
MakeMyTrip has a revenue of US$250+ million and
Airbnb on the other hand is expected to generate a
revenue of US$2.8billion by the end of 2017.
As Backpackers comprise of features of both these
two leading apps in their respective domains, the
company is expected to attract big investors such as
C-trip to invest in their cause. The idea and features
of this app is pretty much limited in the market so far
and thus has a high chance of becoming a hit and be a
Backpackers can grow at a rate similar to Airbnb
or Makemytrip only with a proper business plan.
For a successful business growth, it needs to
monitor its user communities attentively.
Backpackers has to devote a large chunk of its
time and budget to monitor and make sure that its
customers are playing nice. Aesthetics are
important, and people are much likelier to
purchase something if the product page doesn't
look hastily put together.
Data can sometimes be an accurate predictor of
results, though sometimes a new idea or feature
needs to be put in action to truly see how

cities and 190 countries to give competition to
existing hospitality service companies, then its wide
coverage would enable travellers to rent private
homes all over the world. Personal profiles as well as a
rating and reviewing system provide information about
the host and what is on offer. Vice versa, hosts can

Backpackers.

 Online booking of tickets – flights, trains, buses.
 Online cab booking in collaboration with Uber.
 Online hotel booking.
 In-built map so as to provide location as well as
direction services.
 Added feature of a personal assistant to guide the
user all along.
 A reminder to remind the user of his/her needs.
 A mobile wallet in collaboration with Paytm so that it
is universally accepted.
Price and Incentives –
 The app is made available in both Google Play Store
and Apple App Store.
 There are two versions of the app – basic version
which is free of cost and the premium version which
cost US$14.
 The Premium version has added features such as the
Reminder, Mobile Wallet, Personal Assistant and also a
unique feature of downloading the map offline so that
it can be used even when there is no mobile data or
Wi-Fi available nearby.
 The app also has a register user option, once a user
registers in the app, the app will store all the data of
his searches and will recommend the best suited
tickets/hotels for that user.
 The app also provides with exclusive offers to its

company will use initially to connect to its target
customers promising them to enhance their travel
experience by covering all the necessary needs.
A big part of the success of the travel network, is
the branding strategy. Due to the product
benefits that come with a private brand,
Backpackers has to become a loyalty product that
creates a connection between hosts and guests. It
then can enjoy the advantages of being the most
popular in terms of price offers when the
customer has to chose between it and the
competition. Backpackers offers a totally
different experience. It goes beyond just renting
a room or booking a ticket. It persuades the
costumer with the implementation of the service
Publicising of the app can be done through social
media. Also it can be promoted in the existing
online travel communities. As more and more
people get to know about the app, it will
automatically create a chain reaction of word-of-
mouth publicity.
