During 2013 we conducted extensive research via Travel Trends Observatory, an internal exchange platform to better understand traveller trends in the future. We researched in detail how travellers behave, how they search, how they book and other factors that will enable us to continue to understand the traveller life cycle.   6. The second key trend is that all Messaging Platforms have started monetizing other than Whatsapp in new and creative ways. The pioneers are the Asian chat companies are offering e-commerce platforms, games, payment services and stickers. Facebook Messenger will also start monetizing offering payment services and customer support and Snapchat has started experimenting with adverts
  7. Banking is also being disrupted by new players such as Klarna. Klarna is a great concept for shoppers especially those who buy from China on sites such as Ali Express. How does it work? You basically do your shopping and when it comes to the payment, you do not pay, Klarna pays for you till you receive your goods and are happy with them. They are basically taking the risk for you. They assess the risk based on your address, email and phone number and if you pass the risk test they make the payment. In Sweden, which is where they are from, have a xx penetration rate. The good news is that Amadeus Payment Platform is integrating with Klarna to offer this service to airlines and to travel agencies. It is a great concept for travel.
