lateral thinker. He has 30+ years of
experience in IT infrastructure
operations and practices, primarily in
the IT/ITES sector. He started his
career as an electronics engineer
repairing battery chargers.
That experience took him to repair
power supplies of computers in a
construction company during the early
stages of IT evolution in 1990s. It
made him repair computers, assemble
computers, set up networks, learn OS,
and become part of Infrastructure
design and management. "That is how,
I was driven towards IT infra
management," says Chandra.
He then worked as a Network engineer,
then a system integrator, before
becoming a CXO in 2000. Some of his
notable attempted innovations include
Automated Pressure tester in the early
80s, battery operated power supplies
for computers, DRAM-based Unix file
systems, locally cached data for VSAT
communication to reduce latency,
Software Vending Machine,
MobileDesk, Advanced Command
Interface - a mistake-proofing
application (Patented) and Zero

Since he entered this field in 1990,
everything Chandra did or was
required to do was for the first time.
Thanks to the opportunities, he was
part of many firsts – first to install
TCP/IP for Network communications,
first to deploy VSATS for WAN
communications, etc. "There were no
SOPs for many things. There were no
WANs, but we had to support remote
sites – Kevadia in Gujarat, Rewa in
MP, Chamera in HP, Lakhwar in
Uttarakhand," shares Chandra. “There
were no skilled IT engineers at remote
sites to help troubleshoot and expedite
resolution. Around the late 90s,
network bandwidth was a challenge.
Even audio conferences used to have
troubles. There were no standards or
benchmarks for anything”, added
Chandra.

and we launched it in 2018.
We had multiple brainstorming
sessions to understand Artivatic in
depth, which took almost three months
for all of us to decide- what was
Artivatic, how to build further, who

we were aligning our visions for the

After countless efforts, we finally saw
some ray of hope when HCL and
Capgemini, like large enterprises,
showed interest in partnering with
Artivatic. We demonstrated our
technologies and capabilities to solve
these businesses’ problems by
partnering with them. So far, it has
been one of the biggest pleasant and
motivating moments in the Artivatic
journey.
What kind of offerings do you

What kind of challenges have you
faced while entering the
sector?
Artivatic’s journey has been a roller
coaster for the last two years. However,
the entire roadmap was truly inspiring
during the initial stage.
We indeed faced various challenges in
the adjacent stage of development like
building a new team, financial crunch,
working without salary, living in an
office to save costs, getting our ideas
rejected by various investors, and
much more. The entire team of
Artivatic underwent great learning in
the first year. Then in the second year,
we were finally able to launch our first
version of the product. This gave a
boost of confidence and motivation to
all of us to go ahead further with the
innovation.
In the later stage, we also partnered
with Zomato, Dineout, and ClearTrip
to test our technologies. Soon, we will
validate our technologies and business
model by 2019.
In a nutshell, with the constant support
of our customers, investors, and the
team members' belief, we can achieve
our initial goals.

How was your firm/business affected
during the pandemic, and what were
the steps you took to curb the

solutions effectively. It has also created
more demand in the insurance and
health care sector as everyone needs
financial protection. Legacy businesses
need to have a digital transformation to
survive, and hence the pandemic has
appeared as a boom.

that you can succeed, and you’ll find
ways through different obstacles. If
you don’t, you’ll just find excuses. An
entrepreneur has a vision for
something and a desire to create it.
Keep your eye clear at all times. You
can’t achieve success overnight. You
have to persevere and don’t be afraid to
invest time in your company. If you
look closely, most overnight successes
took a long time to become what they
are today.
Where do you envision your
firm/business in the long run, and
what are your future goals? How do
you plan to embrace the changes
happening in your industry?
Artivatic was started in early 2018 and
was operational in late 2018. We are
now moving to next phase of growth
for health network, health benefits, and
building personalized insurance
systems, risk systems, and automation
using technology.
What is the current industrial
scenario of the infrastructure
management services sector?
The insurance sector is moving from
processes to tech driven, and software
focused. The ‘legacy software, manual
driven processes’ way of building and
running the insurance business is no
longer viable for the present’ on-
demand, need based’ world. Here are
the reasons why!
1. Businesses find it challenging to
have the right technology that can
reduce cost, increase efficiency,
and reduce risk.
2. No Personalized risk assessment,
premium, and coverages. Lack of

Early 2020 was a time of great
uncertainty for everyone in the world,
not just the Codewave. We went
remote as soon as we realized there
was a threat. It was challenging to
adjust to the new normal. We were
quite robust and rapidly acclimated to
the isolated circumstances, owing to
our culture. Our internal project
collaboration tools, Timely and Peerly,
proved to be really useful. In reality,
we are now a hybrid organization.
Following the pandemic, a large
number of individuals continue to
work remotely.
Everything went smoothly for the
clients. There are no escalations.
Because all of our products are
designed on the cloud, there were few
operational issues.
Finally, hiring and onboarding new
members became more difficult. But,
with time, we've mastered this as well.
What would you like to advise the
into the AIOps sector?
While building AIOps solutions, build
multiple models. A forest is better than
a giant tree while building models. A
forest of the giant tree is good as well.
Also, the data you feed to models is
highly critical to the final outcome
enterprises will see. So, make sure the
data is of high quality. Lastly, don't
build highly complex applications on
the first attempt.
In the long run, where do you

ARR, and we continue to grow
sustainably. We are always at the

new technologies, and the long-term

What is the current industrial
scenario of the infrastructure

AIOps market is estimated to grow at a
healthy CAGR of 21%, and soon it will
be a USD 40 Billion industry. We

the roadmap for the future. The

of around Rs 500 Cr.

making process?
Decision-making in earlier days used
to be predictive and without sufficient
data to support the theory. With
Artificial Intelligence getting more
powerful and data being the key
supporter for each analysis, decision-
making is getting easier.
Every product goes through multiple
stages of the research and development
