Transitioning into A Wealthy Cop
Every story that reflects a successful trail across the globe
has many hardships, and the same has been with Sunil
Tulsiani. Born in India to a poor family, Sunil had no
running water, no washrooms, and no electricity. His father
was working in a factory in India. Then, his family moved
to Toronto when he was almost 13 years old. He struggled
all his life with schooling. “I didn’t get good marks. I would
struggle because I did not enjoy school. And in 1990, in
Canada, I became a police officer. I went from being a
uniformed officer to being a police detective. Then I became
a police negotiator. And, finally, I became a platoon
commander. And I was with the police force for 15 years.
One day my wife comes to me and says we’re having a
divorce. We have two children. I had to make a decision

decided to quit my job,” shares Sunil.
From there, Sunil quit his job and didn’t know what to do.
So, he attended many business seminars and conferences
and finally decided to go into real estate. Reminiscing about
the start of his real estate journey, Sunil quotes, “I took a
course from a guy named Robert G. Allen, from the US. I
paid $5,000. And with the assistance of that course, I ended
up buying and selling 77 properties in one year.”
Making Millions—Learning From Mistakes When he
stepped into the real estate segment, he made great returns,
and from 2005 to 2008, he generated millions. But in 2008,
there was an economic crash, and he lost everything.
“I lost everything—all of my money, my friends lost
money, and some of my investors lost money. It was a very
tough time. When you’re making money, everybody is with
you. And when something happens, they leave you. So, my
challenge was, how to come back when you lose
everything,” says Sunil.
He puts, “I focused on adding value to other people.
Helping people become wealthy through real estate,
business strategies, and personal growth. And that’s how we
came back. The lesson I learned was that for me to grow, I
have to go through mistakes. I must make mistakes. I must
also learn from my mistakes. This is opposite to what most
of us were taught in school.”

hanging out. Once you meet your potential partners, ask them why they’re there. They may say
that they want to grow their income, buy discounted properties, or build their passive income. At
this point, you can say something like, “Okay, I don’t have anything for you right now, but in the
future, if I come across a great opportunity or a discounted cash-flowing property, would you
like me to let you know about it?”

handful of them translates their passions into their future
professions, one such passionate and professional dancer and
leader is Miss Rhea, who is training as well as inspiring

Miss Rhea, kindly tell our readers about yourself and
your professional journey so far.
I started teaching dance in grade 12. I saw a job post in my
high school to teach for the city of Toronto and took a leap
of faith, applied, and got the Job. Since then, I have never
looked back and have been teaching ever since.
I then fell in love with the business of dance and ran two
studios as the studio manager in my last 3 years of
university. This drove my passion for wanting to open my
location. This studio is my second my first studio failed

when I entered into a partnership with someone else, and it
did not work out.
I also have a performance side to my professional career. I
have danced in a dance company, danced in music videos,
and choreographed all over Canada, the Caribbean, and the
States.
I additionally have started to branch into the tech field and
tie my love for dance and technology together, but this is an
emerging part of my career.
What was your inspiration to step into the performing
arts industry?
Both my parents come from an arts background and so the
support of my family and the ability to stay fully committed
to the arts without judgment inspired me to want to pursue
this industry. I am also inspired by my peers every day and
their passion for our work.
Tell us about Creative Connexions Performing Arts
Centre, its mission, and its vision. What role did you
play in furthering its development and outreach?
Creative Connexions Performing Arts Centre aims to bring
an innovative but reliable experience of high-quality dance
training at both the recreational and competitive levels. We
pride ourselves on offering a well-rounded arts education
while creating professional opportunities for our students.
I created our mission from my own experiences in private
dance studios and institutions and wished that the dance
experience could be more holistic.
Please tell us about the various dance programs that are
taught at your dance studio and how the trainers adapt
to the student’s learning abilities and pace.

According to you, what sets your studio apart from
other performing arts platforms?
Our staff is certified, and there are well-qualified teachers
with professional credentials. Fifty percent of our staff are
actual OCT teachers, and 20 percent have their masters. We
pride ourselves on quality over quantity.
We also have a vast genre of diversity in training; we train
our dancers through the principles of western and non-
western forms of dance. This is not seen anywhere else in
Durham.
In your opinion, how does dance help people lead a
healthy and successful life?
Dance has helped me be the best version of myself. When I
am not moving and dancing, I lose focus, drop in
productivity, and overall, my well-being is low.
Dance has been a healing force during rough times.
Especially over the last two years through COVID, I have
reinforced how vital movement is in my life and the
families that are a part of my dance community.
It uplifts us and brings us together, and keeps us mentally
healthy.
Tell our readers about the major challenges in your
career. And how do they shape you to be an influential
leader?
A major challenge I have had in my career is balancing my
mom life and career life. I am very close to my daughter
and had her at a very early stage in my career. This forced
me to get organized and be very particular about where I
spent my time.
I have learned to delegate, which is an amazing superpower
if you can master it!
As an experienced leader, what advice would you like to
give to aspiring entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who wish
to venture into the performing arts industry?
Have multiple streams of revenue inside your business.
Keep Niched, yes, but you need multiple ways to make
money in your Niche to be able to scale larger and faster.
Take calculated risks and know your numbers. With
businesses like this, being such passion-based businesses, at
times, we can get carried away with our passion and vision
and forget the legalities and technicalities of the business.
It’s important to continue to educate yourself as an
entrepreneur and continue to crave more knowledge.
Learn how to make million-dollar decisions. This is from a
book I recently read called “Why we should all be
millionaires by Rachel Rodgers.” She highlights the
mindset you need to hit your first million. It seems far
away. But I want every entrepreneur to know it is very
much within reach.
The first step is making million-dollar decisions.
Where do you see yourself in the future? Also, how do
you envision scaling your dance studio’s operations and
outreach in the coming years?
In the next coming years, I see the studio growing and
doubling in size with 5 established forms of revenue
Classes, Camps, Birthday Parties, Daytime programming,
and Rentals.
I also see this location getting a full-time studio manager to
allow us to open another location.

The Founder of Biz & Fashion Magazine, Suzy Tamasy,
curated a fashion magazine to deliver a wave of women’s
empowerment with an acknowledgment of self-love and
self-acceptance. Even now, many women do not acknowl-
edge their beauty, fall into the trap of self-loathing, and
never seem to understand the power they hold within
themselves or how it could impact the other women around

When I started the magazine, I had so many say that the
magazine industry had no future, everything is digital, but I
had a version of myself looking at vogue magazine when
younger and getting fashion inspiration from them, so I had
to share that version with local entrepreneurs and keep the
fashion industry clean while working with amazing models
and makeup artist in which we allow exposure in the
industry.
Please enlighten us about your approach to working
together and providing women better exposure within
this organization.
Since being in the fashion industry, I’ve seen the good and
bad. I truly wanted to empower women to love themselves
as they are with every found character of themselves. We
started our glam-it-up shots to allow true expression of
women to be featured in a magazine wearing Lucy art
fashion with a cause by using Suzy Q Jewels Fashion. We
have had a successful array of photographers, makeup
artists, models, and other designers included in Biz &
Fashion Magazine

features. What services enable you to open doors for
opportunities?
We love empowering women with entrepreneurship with
tips and ideas and emotional and mental business aware-
ness. Intertwining it with fashion with amazing models,
Muas, and photographers. Allow a huge impact of collabo-
ration of talent exposure arising a platform for exposure.
How is Biz & Fashion Magazine utilizing technological
advances to enhance its services?
We do have a digital component in which we also do pay
print for our customers to receive their order Magazine to
their inbox or shipped to their homes.
According to you, what should readers of this magazine
expect while flipping through the pages?
I envisioned Biz & Fashion Magazine to be a safe environ-
ment for models to build their portfolios and exposure to
amazing talented photographers. I have had the pleasure of
working within the industry with talented makeup artists
and hair stylists to fabulous designers.

Canada. We are still passionate about giving back; we
opened the Suzy Q Jewels Women and children’s program,
which caters to empowering women and children to stop
the cycle of abuse with intensive counseling and assistance
for court accompanying, dress for success, and children
counseling. Suzy Q Jewels also had a boutique in Vaughan,
which before covid pandemic was closed, in which we had
a women’s workshop to help assist the women in gaining
business knowledge and empowering themselves.
This is where our Glam it up shoots started, and we opened
our Magazine called Pleas Biz & Fashion Media. We are on
our 54 issues in which we allow exposure to models,
designers, talent, and photographers.

mission and vision. What is your role in its development
and global outreach?
It’s on our 54 issues a portion of our print sales still goes
out to women’s shelters. We have over 10k subscribers

with all body types, skin, and abilities. I want a magazine
that empowers women with business knowledge from the
industry of accounting, tax, advertising, marketing, and
savings. To look amazing in fashion with style and
elegance.
Tell us about the challenges you have faced and how
they have shaped you as a business leader.
Covid gave us an eye-opener with our clothing line, Suzy Q
Jewels. Suzy Q Jewels was mostly a luxury brand of
women’s gowns that incorporated teens and girls. With
everyone at home, we had to revamp and add a casual line
for home attire, blouses, tops, and lounge attire.
Therefore, I mentor my students always not to have one
business under their belt. When one has an area of stagna-
tion, you need to have another one running. That’s where
Biz & Fashion Magazine kept us afloat, generating revenue
and allowing us to use Suzy Q Jewels fashion.
Where do you envision yourself in the future, and how
do you see your company and its global reach in the
foreseeable future?
I envision myself in 5 years giving Suzy Q Jewels fashion
to one of my protégé and concentrating on the charity
portion more. I want to leave a legacy by helping, changing,
and empowering other women and teens.
Covid allowed me to start our book series with amazing
true stories of other empowered women. Empowered in
Heels 1 pushes you to the next level of life. My true story is

finished with our next series coming out in Jan, Empowered
