This document discusses how agile principles can help hardware development processes. Traditional hardware development has lengthy life cycles with early design freezes and isolated teams, lacking early feedback and a unified goal. Agile principles like customer collaboration, responding to change, working software/hardware, and individuals & interactions could help hardware by encouraging collaboration, earlier feedback, and flexibility to adapt to changes. Specialization, co-location, versioning, and reducing rectification costs are also discussed as ways agile could improve hardware development.
