Donald Trump was born in Queens, New York in 1946 and received a degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He took over his family's real estate business in 1971 and expanded it significantly. Trump became a television personality by hosting The Apprentice and also owned the Miss Universe pageants. He entered politics as a Republican and was elected president in 2016, becoming the oldest person to assume the presidency. As president, Trump enacted tax cuts and repealed some Dodd-Frank banking regulations while also enacting controversial policies like travel bans from some Muslim-majority nations.
