1. Script: The impact of music in our lives
Music is presented in every part of our life. It’ s a form of art that uses sound
organised in time. Generally, music includes people singing with their voices or
playing musical instruments, such as the guitar, violin, piano or drums; it can
also be a coordinated combination of both voices and instruments.
Whether you’re hearing it through your ears or feeling something like rhythm
through vibration, music remains universal.
In 2014 study found that music was helpful for patients with fibromyalgia
Study showed that listening to relaxing music of the patient’s choice reduced
pain and increased functional mobility significantly’.
It is believed that music eases pain as listening to it triggers opioids- the body’s
natural pain relievers.
Not only is it able to relieve physical pain, it also has the ability to affect us
emotionally.
But just how much can this ever-present co-ordinated sounds impact us? - and
the way we act and feel?
Well, you can use music to distract yourself from painful or stressful situations
as it could be an “escape from reality”, perhaps you’ve listened to it while
studying or working out.
It is believed that also adding music to various therapy’s could potentially
reduce depression and anxiety as well as help in many aspects of the brain
including pain reduction, stress relief, memory and brain injuries as it is able to
elevate one’s feeling.
Just think of a particular song you listen to where you’re able to feel strong
emotions because you feel like the singer is able to relate your pain or problems
without you having to say anything.
Although, various genres of music could undoubtedly impact your moods, it’s not
always within the strategy you would anticipate, it allows us to feel nearly or
possibly all emotions that we experience in our life as it has the ability to bring
back memories and take you back to an event, moment or period of time you
were once in.

This is why you still aren’t able to forget the Nursery Rhymes and kids songs you
learn back in kindergarten and primary school.
However, some research has suggested that music is also able to influence us in a
negative way as it can increase aggressive thoughts or encourage crime.
Recently, a UK study explored how “drill” music might be linked to attention-
seeking crime.

2. But not everyone agrees to this.
Craig Pinkey, a criminologist and lecturer at the University college of
Birmingham, believes that there are multiple reasons for the rise in crime. He
explains that poverty,racism, poor leadership and lack of opportunities also
contributes.
People who are already prone to violence might be drawn to violent music but
that doesn’t mean everybody who enjoys that music is violent.
This is why I think that the best way to use music as a tool for increasing the
happiness levels in your life is to find out what works for you
