Work crews will be at the corner of Wainwright Road and Henry Place Friday, March
27 from 7 a.m. to noon. During this time the intersection will be closed. Traffic will be

NEW – Rader Dental Clinic schedule change
Beginning April 1 dental exams will be scheduled by appointment at Rader Dental
Clinic. Patients must be present 10 minutes prior to appointment time in order to
complete paperwork before being seen. Sick call hours will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Walk-in exams will no longer be available after April 1.
NEW – Semper Fi “Sprint Tri” Opens for Registration
The Semper Fit Sprint Triathlon is open for registration now until April 12. The event
comprises a 10 minute swim at Zembiec Pool, 20 minute run, and 20 minute bike
portion at Smith Gym. Participation is limited to 42 single entries (no teams), and there

The annual Golf With Us program is open for registration. Tournaments are held
monthly at courses throughout Northern Virginia. The first tournament is April 12 at
Marine Base Quantico’s Medal of Honor Golf Course. Registration closes March 29.

NEW – Army Substance Abuse Training for Civilians
The training listed below will be held on the Fort Myer portion of Joint Base Myer-
Henderson Hall in Building 230 from 1 to 2 p.m. Civilians are required to have two
hours of Army Substance Abuse training which would include Drug Free Workplace
(Substance Abuse Awareness) training and one hour of Suicide Awareness training.
If an employee participated in the Suicide Awareness Stand Down they will have
met the requirement for the year. If an employee did the Workplace Violence on line it

NEW – Easter Sunrise Service at Arlington National Cemetery
This year's Easter Sunrise Service at the Arlington National Cemetery Memorial
Amphitheater begins at 6:30 a.m., Sunday March 31. The services will begin with a
prelude by the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own." and will also include
returning guest speaker Chaplain (Brig. Gen.) Charles Ray Bailey, U.S. Army Deputy
Chief of Chaplain, who will provide a sermon.
The nondenominational worship service is hosted by the U.S. Army Military District
of Washington's Command Chaplain and is free and open to the public. Parking for the
Easter Service will be available at the Arlington National Cemetery Visitors Center
parking lot and on Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) parking will be open
across from the Spates Club for those who would like to walk to the Amphitheater
through the Selfridge Gate into ANC.
Gates open and bus transportation to the amphitheater will begin at 5:15 a.m. from
the ANC Visitors Parking lot and also from the JBM-HH Old Post Chapel for those with
mobility impairments only.

NEW – White Ribbon Campaign
The JBM-HH Sexual Assault Response Coordinator will be hosting a White Ribbon
Campaign on JBM-HH on April 3. The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) is the largest
effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women. This
campaign encourages both men and women to join in the campaign and proudly wear
the White Ribbon throughout the work day on April 3. You can receive your ribbon
from the installation SARC, Nathaniel Robinson at 102 Custer Rd, Bldg 203, room 217,
or come to the front of the JBM-HH PX from 9 a.m. to noon on April 3 and sign your

NEW – 30 Days of Fitness
30 Days of Fitness Starts April 7 at Henderson Hall’s Smith Gym and Zembiec
Pool. Henderson Hall Marine Corps Community Services invites all DoD ID card
holders to join in the semi-organized program of workouts running 30 days to May 6.

encouraged to try the variety of classes and self-starting workouts available with the
facilities and instructor led classes available at Henderson Hall and the JBM-HH, or off-
site. Options for trial include Zumba, spinning, pull-ups, deep-water aerobics, deep-
water running, strength training, or total body conditioning at Smith Gym and deep
water aqua aerobics and running at Zembiec Pool [see the respective web sites at
http://www.mccshh.com/SmithGym.html and http://www.mccshh.com/Pool.html.
Register by calling 703-614-5959 and then participate in any or all of the fitness, aerobic,
and wellness classes or your own workout to earn points. There will be a two-hour
class covering portions, caloric intake and counts, food preparation, and making
healthy choices. Points are submitted weekly on the honor system on the activities
performed. Prizes will be awarded for the Top Female and Top Male point earners.
Mobile DMV coming back to Fort Myer portion of JBM-HH
The JBM-HH Army Career and Alumni Program will sponsor the Virginia
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) mobile unit on Tuesday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. in the parking lot in front of the Bowling Center and Spates Community Club.
They will provide all or most services provided at a regular DMV office. The mobile
until provides JBM-HH Servicemembers, their Families, DoD civilians and retirees a
different and convenient venue exclusively without having to go to a regular office. For

NEW – TSA expands Pre-check program
5. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently expanded its Trusted
Traveler program, known as Pre-Check, to Servicemembers flying out of St. Louis (STL)
and Denver (DEN) International airports. Additionally, the program will be
implemented at Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) by the end of March
2013. The highly successful TSA Pre-Check program is currently available at:
- Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)
- Dulles International Airport (IAD)
- Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL)
- Honolulu International (HNL)
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
Servicemembers, active drilling Reservists, National Guardsmen, and members of
the Coast Guard, who present a valid Common Access Card (CAC) at security
checkpoints will receive expedited security screening. Eligible Servicemembers do not
need to be on official travel or in uniform to take advantage of TSA Pre-Check. Family
members ages 12 and under traveling with an eligible member can also process through
expedited screening. While this program offers expedited screening for
Servicemembers, TSA plans to continue applying random and unpredictable screening
measures as part of the agency's layered approach to prevent terrorist from "gaming"
the system.
NEW – Defense Acquisition University (DAU) will host a Hot Topic
Training Forum
The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) will host a Hot Topic Training Forum on
Tuesday, April 9 at its Fort Belvoir campus (Scott Hall). The theme this year is: “Better
Buying Power Training to Meet Defense Acquisition Challenges.” The event offers
classroom training sessions tied to the Better Buying Power 2.0 initiatives. In a period of
fiscal challenges and technological opportunities, the training will focus on what is
working and ways to improve on what is not. The half day training forum (8 a.m. –
12:30 p.m.) will be fed via VTC to numerous DAU regional campuses and sites. The
forum provides three Continuous Learning Points (CLP) for continued DoD acquisition

Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) 5K run/1 mile Walk
Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall will host a 5K Run/1M Walk on April 12 at 6:30
a.m. at the Fort Myer Fitness Center in recognition and support of the men and women
who work to prevent sexual assault and domestic violence.

Rape Aggression Defense Class
6. There will be a Rape Aggression Defense Class on Saturday, April 13 from 8:30 a.m.

Annual Children’s Fair
MCCS Henderson Hall holds the sixth annual Children’s Fair Saturday, April 13, 10
a.m. – 2 p.m. Open to Department of Defense identification card holders, the fair takes
place in the Cpl Terry L. Smith Gymnasium on the Henderson Hall portion of Joint Base
Myer-Henderson Hall. Events include free carnival games, face painting, a toddler
climbing area, giveaways, and cotton candy; a family friendly lunch will be available
for sale (cash only). Children are welcome to wear a favorite animal costume. For more

2013 National Capital Region/Military District of Washington
Combatives Tournament
JBM-HH Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation is looking for the “Best Warriors”
to compete in this year’s 2013 NCR/MDW Combatives Tournament. The tournament is
open to all Servicemembers and DoD Civilians from all installations and units within
the NCR/MDW region. The Combatives Tournament will be held April 16-19 at Joint
Base Myer-Henderson Hall’s Conmy Hall, Building 241. Combatives (military service
members assigned or attached to an Army or Joint organization) participating in the
tournament will also be competing for a spot on the 2013 NCR/MDW Combatives
Team. This team will represent NCR/MDW at the United States Army Combatives
Championships in July at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Prepare for your future and meet with local, national, and international educators

Spring Education & Career Fair on Thursday, April 18, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Cpl Terry
L. Smith Gym, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. Educators and employees will be on
hand to meet prospective students and employees, and breakfast and lunch
refreshments will be served. Resume review and assistance services will be available
during the fair, which is open to DoD ID card holders and the general public (with

Washington Area (AOWCGWA) will welcome Colonel (retired) John Folsom as he

in Iraq and became a supply donkey for the US military.

The Career Resource Management Center announces a new Small Business
Administration “Boots to Business” workshop. Geared toward transitioning military
service members, military spouses, and veterans, the workshop is designed to
determine if starting a business is right for you. After the two-day workshop, each
participant will have a Feasibility Analysis Deliverable that will serve as the basis for

Anger & Stress Management
MCCS Henderson Hall’s Behavioral Health Branch offers a continuing Anger &
Stress Management workshop Wednesdays, 9 – 11 a.m. Held in Building 12, the eight-
part workshop’s topics include dealing with stress, empathy, learning to respond
differently to situations, identifying negative self talk, communication skills, adjusting
expectations, time outs, and forgiveness. Registration is required and referrals are

9. The Marine Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) holds two briefs in April
for families who have family members with special needs. On April 15, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.,
the EFMP briefs at Marine Barracks Washington, Post 5, Ground Floor Rm. 146. On
April 18, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., the brief is in Bldg. 12’s conference room on the Henderson
Hall portion of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. In addition, the EFMP holds a
program and support group meeting at the Fort Meade Community Readiness Center,
830 Chisholm Ave., Fort Meade, Maryland. This meeting is held in conjunction with the
Fort Meade Army Community Services EFMP.

Come to ACS for the 411 on Korea. Learn about topics including sponsorship,
household shipments, personal vehicle shipments, driving, pets, passport information,
