Price - Prices of magazines vary a lot, they could be anywhere between £1.99 and £4.99.
For Mixmag it costs £36 to subscribe for the next 12 magazines via direct debit, £38
pounds via credit card and £70 for the 24 issue via credit card. One issue of Mixmag
costs £4.95.
Frequency - Magazine frequency can also vary. It could be weekly, monthly, bi-monthly or
even every three months. This would be dependent on how much content exists for a
particular genre. For example a pop magazine would be likely to be produced on a
weekly basis as there is a lot of content that could be put in it. Mixmag is produced 12
times a year, once a month.
Issue Size - This would be dependent on two things, the frequency of the publication and the
amount of news about that particular genre. If a magazine is produced on a weekly basis
it would be assumed to contain less content than one that is produced on a monthly
basis. Mixmag contains around 70 pages of content and adverts.
Regular Content - Most music magazines always contain an editorial, which is a message
from the editor about that particular issue of the magazine. They could also contain a
reader letters section where some of the readers emails or letters are printed into the
magazine and the writers endeavour to answer any questions that they had. Mixmag
contains "DJ battles", "Your CD explained", which is a feature where bands/ artists
explain their newest CD/ album.
Feature Articles - These would be dependent on controversial issues, or any discussable
topic, that has taken place within that genre of music. For example if an artist has
produced a new track that does not follow the style that they usually produce in. Mixmag
had "Who is the greatest dance act of all time?" in one issue. This is a very opinionated
topic as everyone who reads the magazine may have their view on whether they are right
or wrong.

Price – £3.99 per issue, £28 for a 1 year subscription.
Frequency – Monthly.
Issue Size – 120 pages, 35% adverts.
Regular Content – Fan mail, subscriptions, crosswords, ten commandments.
Feature Articles – Oasis special, Paul Heaton

Price - £4.60 per issue.
Frequency - Monthly.
Issue Size - 150 pages, 40% adverts.
Regular Content - Back to my place, Theories rants etc, Mojo collections.
Feature Article - Time machine, The stranglers, Bob Marley.
