Soldier assessments now being conducted across from Guthrie
Fort Drum Soldiers who are looking for the Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Met-
rics, or ANAM, should turn to Chris Ramie, contract psychometrist. Ramie works with the Re-
habilitation and Reintegration Division, Office of the Surgeon General, and serves as chief of
the Neuro-Cognitive Assessment Tool Branch at MEDDAC. NCAT is housed in Bldg. 11059, the
new brick modular building across from Guthrie Clinic Urgent Care Clinic next to the Medical
Maintenance building. Ramie explained that assessments are conducted at the NCAT so ser-
vice members have an established cognitive baseline on record. All in-processing service
members will conduct the assessment as well as prior to deployment. If a service member
suffers a TBI or other head injury, the SM can be referred to be re-evaluated by performing a
post-deployment assessment. Post-deployment data can be compared to the predeploy-
ment baseline to determine if changes have taken place in their cognitive functioning. There
is no longer any testing being done at Clark Hall.
The NCAT is open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
For more information, call Ramie at 772-3541.

Officials announce early release, delayed reporting procedures
With the return of winter weather, Fort Drum Soldiers, Families and civilian employees should become famil-
iar with the announcement procedures post officials use in the event inclement weather forces delayed re-
porting or early dismissal for nonemergency essential personnel. To determine whether they are emergency
essential or nonemergency essential, Soldiers and civilian employees should consult their supervisors. Once
post officials decide on a delayed start or early release, the Public Affairs Office staff provides the informa-
tion to local radio and television stations, which announce it periodically. The Public Affairs Office will make a
delayed-start announcement to the media no later than 5 a.m.; however, stations “go live” at different
times. Employees must ensure they are not listening to prerecorded programming. The Fort Drum web site
(www.drum.army.mil) and 772-DRUM (3786) will be updated immediately. They offer the best sources for
current information.
Except for emergency essential personnel, the following applies:
In the event of an announced post delay, employees will report the specific number of hours after their nor-
mal reporting time, but all employees must report to work no later than 10 a.m. Employees should report
no sooner than the time specified above unless a specific reporting time is announced or directed by their
supervisor.
Following are sources where individuals can find delayed-start or early-release information.
