measure data gathering and unit compliance to attain 100% on all indicators, increase HCAPHS
score and sustain to be at high percentile across the nation improve patient experience by hourly

throughput. Provide direction and coordination of the Definitive Observation and Telemetry
departments. Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures for appropriate

staffing requirements and patterns, based on scope of services, complexity of patient acuity and
fiscal resources. Direct hiring, performance management and development of staff within

procedures are followed. Assume responsibility for coordination and delivery of 24 hour nursing
care on the assigned Departments. Ensure quality care is delivered to patients in timely and

Supervise NOC Shift (2300-0730) nursing staff, departmental shift operations, and coordinate
patient flow throughout the emergency department. Duties include creating daily assignments
based on patient care needs and employee competencies, updating the daily staffing schedule,
and projecting staffing needs. Furthermore, a supervising staff nurse (SSN) interprets,
communicates, and enforces hospital and nursing policies and standards of practice; and formally
evaluates employee performance. Other responsibilities include patient care rounds and audits,
daily communications with nurse manager, and performs direct patient care when necessary. An
SSN also acts as a unit resource.

the roll of preceptor for new nurses and rendering online medical control in pre-hospital care.

Helipad Safety Training 2013
Training for all Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Emergency Department Medical and Nursing
staff and trauma staff about the safety in the helipad and around the helicopter when retrieving a
patient. The training is mandatory for all ED Medical and Nursing staff and Trauma surgeons.
This training include a thorough curriculum that discussed the current practice for retrieving air
lifted patients. It is a 1 hour training that include 30 minute of lecture and 30 minute of
simulation that include a live helicopter on the helipad. Also policy revision was done while
putting the training class together
