2. What is Jing?
o Jing takes screenshot images or video
recordings of your screen. Jing is useful for
giving students instructions, showing a
support team member what your screen
looks like when you have a problem, and
saving screenshots for your records.
3. HOW TO INSTALL AND USE
JING?Step 1
Go
to http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html. Select Free
Download in the top right corner.
4. Step 2
You can choose either to Start Windows
Download or Start Mac Download. You can also
review the system requirements on this page.
5. Step 3
Follow the steps within Jing's installation
program.
Step 4
Select the box says I accept the fine
print then select Install.
7. Jing Options
Find the yellow circle peeking from the edge
of your monitor onto your screen. It could be on
any of the four edges.
Hover your cursor over the sun, and three
options will appear.
8. Select the gears to view the Jing options. You
can send feedback, add hotkeys, hide the Jing
sun and get help with the Jing
options. Select the checkmark to close the
options circle.
9. How to Take a Screenshot Image
Hover your cursor over the sun on the edge
of your screen again to view the three
options. Select the plus sign to take a
screenshot.
Your cursor will turn into yellow
crosshairs. Select and drag to define which part of
your screen you want to save as a
picture. Release your cursor to complete the selection.
10. A rectangle with four options will appear
when you release your mouse.
To save the selection as an
image, select the floppy disk icon.
11. You will now be able to add annotations on
top of the image using the options on the left
side. You can draw an arrow, add a text box,
draw a box, or highlight. Select the colored
square to change the color of the
annotation. Select the floppy disk icon at the
bottom of the window to save the image.
12. A new window will appear informing you
that the capture has been saved. Select Open
the file to view the finished image
or select Close to exit the window.
13. How to Capture a Video Recording
Hover your cursor over the sun on the edge
of your screen again to view the three
options. Select the plus sign to take a
screenshot.
Your cursor will turn into yellow
crosshairs. Select and drag to define which part
of your screen you want to save as a
recording. Release your cursor to complete the
selection.
14. Select the filmstrip icon. Record your video
and audio.
Select the stop icon to finish the recording.
Select the floppy disk icon to save the
recording.
15. A new window will appear informing you
that the capture has been saved. Select Open
the file to view the finished recording
or select Close to exit the window.
16. Accessing Jing History
To view past screenshots in one
location, hover your cursor over the sun on the
edge of your screen and select the middle icon.
A new window will appear. Use the options at
the top of the window to narrow the displayed
screenshots. Select an image to view, share, or
delete the image.
17. Sharing Jing Images and Videos
Hover your cursor over the sun on the edge
of the screen and select the History circle.
Select the image or video you want to share
and then select the arrow icon.

You can share images or videos as soon as
you take them by selecting the arrow icon.
19. The following window will appear informing
you that the link to your image or video is now
ready to paste. You can paste it into an email, a
word document, web browser address bar, etc.

o Popplet is great for school and for
learning in the classroom and at home.
Students use Popplet to think and learn
visually. By capturing facts, thoughts,
and images, students learn to create
relationships between them and generate
new ideas.
22. Google Earth
is a computer program that renders
a 3D representation of Earth based on satellite
imagery. The program maps the Earth by
superimposing satellite images, aerial
photography, and GIS data onto a 3D globe,
allowing users to see cities and landscapes from
various angles. Users can explore the globe by
entering addresses and coordinates, or by using
a keyboard or mouse.

a smartphone or tablet, using a touch screen or
stylus to navigate. Users may use the program
to add their own data using Keyhole Markup
Language and upload them through various
sources, such as forums or blogs.

Google Earth provides a series of

application. Additional globes for

provided by Wikipedia on some locations, and Street
View imagery. The web-based version of Google
Earth also includes Voyager, a feature that

countries. Some countries have requested that
certain areas be obscured in Google's satellite

directly to public school classroom projects.
Founded in 2000 by former public school
teacher Charles Best, DonorsChoose.org was among
the first civic crowd funding platforms of its

Navigator’s highest rating every year since 2005.

-enables teachers to request materials and resources for
their classrooms and makes these project requests available to
individual donors through its website. Donors can give $1 or
more to projects that interest them, which are searchable by
school name, teacher name, location, school subject, material,
and keywords. DonorsChoose.org then purchases necessary
supplies and ships them directly to the schools. Every project
contains a line-item budget and a description of the project. All
donors receive photographs of the project taking place in the
classroom and a letter from the teacher. Donors who contribute
$50 or more to a project also receive hand-written thank-you
notes from students.

shows to suit the needs of any culture or society. A
person could also search on Slide share for different
presentations related to many different topics,
cultures, and societal issue depending on their needs.
Slide share makes information more engaging for
students with pictures and putting the information
into a presentation. It also would be beneficial to
students to promote technology skills by having the
students search for presentations, create their own,
or modify current presentations.

Students could search for a presentation on a topic that they
are trying to find information on.
Students could create their own presentation for many
different reasons like a research project, author study,
teaching a topic/lesson, or presenting other information.
Teachers could use Slide share to present information on a
topic or introduce students to a topic in an engaging way.
40. HOW TO USE SLIDE SHARE
FIRST:
sign up and should fill out your profile.
SECOND:
In your profile you can include a link back to your website's URL, choose some tags to
describe you, include an image for you/your company/site, etc.
THIRD:
Include your keywords in your title and in the keywords section so that people will be
able to find your presentation either when searching on Slide share itself or even in the
search engines.
Remember to also include a good description for the video, as well, so people know
the focus of your presentation without their having to check it out first .
You can also add audio narration to your presentations. Record your audio through
whichever method you like and upload the file as an MP3 to play with your presentation
to give it a more legitimate presentation feel.
Don't forget that Slide share allows you to embed links right in your presentations! Link
back to your website when appropriate to enjoy the full benefits of your work in
creating good and search engine optimized presentations.
