Role Overview: The Field Foreman - Projects and Engineering is a field- based role which is responsible for leading a team
carrying out construction and maintenance work associated with new main laying, mains alteration works and major
steel and PE work on the natural gas and LPG distribution networks in Queensland.
Role Purpose: This role is responsible for leading a team in the construction and maintenance of gas reticulation system,
including PE, nylon, steel and cast iron piping.
Duties include:
The role includes but not limited to:
Laying new mains and services and relocating existing mains and services , and instillation of regulator pits
Operating specialised equipment, such as steel and Polyethylene(PE) hot tap and stopple-equipment
Operate machinery such as chain digger, saw cutter and jack hammer
Locate gas leaks and pressure test pipework
Locate other services and obstructions
Drive and maintain a tip truck vehicle under 15 tonne capacity
Complete as construct plans to APA requirements
Establish work site boundaries and erect safety barricades and signage
Supervise and coordinate the activities of on-site contractors
Organise materials for project work including delivery of quarry products
Organise and supervise additional external service providers as required by the job
Participate in the development of new work procedures and practices
Work productively and efficiently, minimising waste and caring for APA equipment and machinery appropriately
Meet construction deadlines and ensure projects timeframes are met
Work closely with team members, supervisors and managers to maintain open communication and work efficiencies
Develop strong business relationships internally and externally
