2. 1. MATTHEW FRASER
• “You don’t train to picture yourself
second place on the podium. Second
place sucks.”
From this quote it can be inferred that a
lot of Mat’s motivation comes from
visualizing himself finishing in first place.

3. 2. MATTIE ROGERS
• "There is no perfect time. No perfect
opportunity. No perfect situation. No Perfect
moment. You either make it happen, or you
don't. You don't wait for it to fall in your lap.
You take it.”
Mattie is infamous for her motivational quotes,
and something she preaches is a strong work
ethic. She gets her motivation from sharing her
struggle and uplifting others.

4. 3. KARA WEBB
• “I never wanted to be competitive, I just
wanted something to participate in and
have some fun.”
Kara is infamous for her upbeat attitude
and smile during competition. It can be
seen that a method she uses to ease her
anxiety is by enforcing the idea that she is
there for fun.

5. 4. RICH FRONING
• “I wouldn’t say that God made me win in
2011, but the spirituality of it has helped me
be stronger mentally. Physically, you can
only go so far, and the rest is mental.”
Rich is the most decorated CrossFit athlete of
all time. He is very open in regards to his faith,
and gets a lot of motivation from this area of
his life.

6. 5. BROOKE ENCE
• “I am going there to have fun,
but I’m going there to
podium.”
She is famous for her intense
personality, and this quote is
indicative of that fiery spirit that
makes her such a strong
competitor. She is motivated by
the will to win – above all else.

7. 6. MORGHAN KING
• "Once you get on that stage, it's
definitely business. But you can't
hide that smile, you know?”
Similar to the previous athlete
(Brooke Ence), Morghan competes
because she enjoys what she does…
But she knows that come competition
time it’s important to be serious and
go for gold.

8. 7. JESSICA LUCERO
• “You either get better or you get beat
because everyone wants to win.”
Above all, Jessica holds hard work highest.
She has been in the sport of olympic style
weightlifting since the age of 17, and is now a
masters athlete. This history alone clearly
represents her always-trying-to-improve
mindset.

9. 8. JENNY ARTHUR
• “As a young girl collecting topps
cards, never in a million years
would I imagine having one of my
own.”
This quote, accompanied by an
image of the topps card, shows that
Jenny has been humble for her
entire career. I believe this humble
attitude is motivation for her
because it always means she is
doing this for herself, and no one
else.

10. 9. ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
• “For me life is continuously being hungry.
The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to
survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to
achieve, to conquer. ”
Arnold is and was motivated by the desire to
always keep improving himself, always keep
achieving.

11. 10. KATRIN DAVIDSDOTTIR
• “Full effort is full victory.”
Katrin has successfully been crowned Fittest
Woman on Earth 2 years in a row, and she is
known for her strong mental game. She gets her
motivation from failing, and then always wanting
to find ways to bounce back after failure.
