Contributing to Open Source may seem intimidating. You may not have the confidence to get involved or suffer from “impostor syndrome.” Now is the time to shed those fears and get involved with a project. Contributions are contributions regardless of how small or inconsequential you think.

- So we are going to discuss why you get involved with open source software. Some of the larger reasons maybe being part of something bigger. Growing your brand, etc.
- Talk about the type of skills that you can grow. Remote Workers Larger Teams – Ask the audience VCS, ETC
- You are just exposed to more code. More code that you get to see the more experience you have.
- Talk about why github accounts are important. Shows your interest Shows you code Shows your strengths
- It is complex, circling back to contributor agreements, style guidelines, licensing, ownership of the code. Do you work for a company? Need to check with legal. Why its important to give project ownership.
