AZERI, CHIRAG GUNASHLI (AGG) FIELD

In 2005, Dornan Engineering completed the procurement, installation, testing &
commissioning of the Mechanical, Electrical & Telecommunications Services
both on-shore and off-shore on the Chirag 1 Platform. The value of this project
was £28m.

Dornan Engineering has been involved with the ACG Field development since
1997. The Chirag 1 Platform was the first off-shore platform to be constructed
in the Caspian Sea by a western oil company. The project had a very tight
schedule and Dornan completed the on-shore phase of the platform in a 16
week period. Once the on-shore phase of the platform was completed and
floated into position, Dornan completed the off-shore hook-up, pre-commis-
sioning and assisted the client with the commissioning phase.
OIL & GAS

KARACHAGANAK, KAZAKHSTAN

Dornan Engineering completed the design, procurement and construction of the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunications Services to the
Karachaganak field in Kazakhstan.

The development of this field presented a large number of development challenges due to its remoteness, size and composition. This region is also characterised by
extreme climatic changes with cold winters (-40C) and hot summers (+40C) and short springs and autumns.

Dornan Engineering’s involvement on the project included the upgrade of the Unit 3 Gas Processing Unit and the decommissioning of the existing pneumatic system
and installation and commissioning of the new process automation and control system.

All of this work was carried out while the plant was in a continually live gas processing state. Dornan did not have a single plant trip or outage during the complete
works period.

MADERO REFINERY

The Madero Refinery was Dornan Engineering’s first project in Mexico where we were the main Instrument Contractor of the grass roots process units.

The project was on a very tight schedule of 12 months and our personnel’s extensive experience enabled Dornan to complete 1.5 million direct man-hours.

The scope of work included the installation of over 30,000 field instruments, the installation of 9 control rooms complete with DCS and ESD Systems,
telecommunications, fire and gas detection and CCTV.
OIL & GAS

SHAH DENIZ FIELD
In 2005, Dornan Engineering completed the procurement and construction
of the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecommunications
Services to the Shah Deniz Offshore Gas Field.

Dornan’s involvement with the BP Shah Deniz Field began in 1998 on the
Shelf 5 semi-submersible drilling rig. Dornan completed the onshore
electrical, instrumentation and telecommunications installation and provided
personnel for the off-shore hook up and commissioning phase.

In 2003, the first phase of the full field development was officially sanctioned
with an estimated cost of US$3 billion. Dornan completed the civil,
mechanical and electrical upgrade works at the Zykh yard to ensure that the
yard was ready to support construction platforms in the yard.

In January 2005, Dornan was awarded the main electrical and
instrumentation contract for the TPG 500 platform. This platform is one of
the most advanced platforms to be constructed in the world.

Once the topside of the rig arrived in Zykh, Dornan commenced the
installation of the electrical and instrumentation systems.
