- What has geo-location capabilities? Devices with GPS Navigation Computers Cell phones PDAs & Tablets You are connected through all of these devices!
- But how? Most devices now have some form of GPS GPS – communicates with satellites to pinpoint exact location A-GPS – combination of Cellular and GPS Cellular – triangulates an approximate location by pinging off of nearby cell towers WiFi – slightly more accurate that cellular (uses IP addresses)

- The two that we are going to focus on today are Foursquare SCVNGR
- Both Apps that would not function without geo-location BUT their approach to geo-location apps is very different. Foursquare vs. SCVNGR
