Notes de l'éditeur

  1. Estimated cost CVD in 2008 was $97.7 billion.
  2. Projected cost of CVD expected to triple form $273 billion to $818 billion dollars by 2030.
  3. The influenza (aka Spanish flu) epidemic killed more people than died in all of WW1 (16 million died in ww1, 50-100 million worldwide from the flu). ~675,000 Americans died that year from the flu.
  4. We need to change a few things in our lifestyle choices.
  5. Healthy Ageing Longitudinal Study in Europe: 1507 healthy men and 832 women aged 70 to 90 years in 11 European countries. Stats on cause of death or vital stats collected every 5 years from 1988 to 2000. At the end of the study, 935 had died (mostly from CVD). The combination of all 4 “low-risk behaviors” lowered rate of death by more than 50%.
