observed a rate of lung cancer on
males in south central Los Angeles.
• In southcentral Los Angeles there
air sampling has indicated an excess
of certain polynuclear aromatic
hydrocarbons.

13. 15 percent of men who get lung cancer that are non-
smokers get lung cancer and 50 percent of women
who get lung cancer are non-smokers.
(this people have never smoked and still have lung
cancer)

each year.
• About 160,000 die of lung cancer

• Survival rate average is about five
years. this rate has been for decades.

that there is other ways to get lung cancer.
