2. Maguire's mastery of the English language is evident especially in this book--
from his incredible continuity from one book to the next, to his not-so-subtle
references to the other pieces of this tale. The book is well-paced and thoroughly
enjoyable even before the adventure begins. Loose ends are tied up in a way
that the mature reader can draw their own conclusions. Clearly, Maguire believes
in treating his readers like adults and allowing them to see the endings however
they wish.
