1To whom it may concern,
The opportunity to enter into public service, specifically to work with Health Canada, excites me
on a number of levels. Primarily as a proud Canadian and a true belief that my talents and
experiences will be an asset to the Ministry, ensuring that all mandates are met or exceeded.
Having maintained the highest performance standards within a wide range of functions as a
managerial staff off a multinational corporation, from process and audit protocol development to
resource planning and allocation, provides me the tools to meet the expectations put forth by the
Department of Health. Where the end goal is the pursuit of superior service to the people of
Canada while conducting oneself to the highest standards.
To the matter of diversity;
Canada as a country exemplifies diversity, comprised of two official languages, various cultures
including our Native peoples and those arriving from around the world. This is what makes our
great land and fundamentally what makes us who we are, Canadian.
Respect can only be measured and gained, not through tolerance, but acceptance. Acceptance is
a product of knowledge and understanding of the very things that diversifies us, no matter the
culture, race or creed or political persuasion.
A fundamental the criteria for management is to create and sustain a working environment that
models a positive relationship among its stakeholders, the clients and employees. Only by
fostering the culture of openness and harmony that emanates from the people of Canada and that
is represented by their elected representatives, can we succeed in truly serving the customer and
the public as a whole. By guiding all my dealings within the workplace with this philosophy of
knowledge and acceptance can I hope to provide my colleagues, superiors, subordinates the
respect that is deserved.
