Held various finance roles with increasing responsibility across Technology, Retail Store Operations, Merchandising and Financial Services.
TECHNOLOGY FINANCE – SR. DIRECTOR: Served as FP&A and Customer Support Finance Leader, supporting Technology Division with
$2,700,000,000 in annual Opex and $750,000,000 in annual Capex spend. Led budgeting, forecasting, month-end close/reporting and ad-hoc
financial analyses (e.g., contract negotiations). Oversaw team of nine. Improved financial discipline within tech division, enabling division to manage
Opex and Capex spend within 1% of budget/target past two years. Built three-year plan annually and worked with technology strategy to build
PowerPoint presentations to explain key assumptions and plans of division. Served as finance liaison between tech division and corporate finance.
Led FP&A team focused on providing financial support to operations, security, data and analytics, infrastructure, and cloud computing teams.
Provided finance and accounting support on several large contract negotiations and investments in data centers.
OPERATIONS FINANCE – SR. DIRECTOR: Led finance for Great Lakes Division (240 stores in three regions and 30 markets throughout Ohio and Michigan).

budgeting model for all Great Lakes stores, including new factors in estimating YOY sales growth budgeted for each store: on-shelf availability, product
inventory accuracy, unemployment, food product sales growth, hardlines sales growth, softlines sales growth, income levels, etc. Served as part of Central
FP&A team consolidating forecasts across all divisions and building corporate forecasts that validated/challenged reasonableness of consolidated divisional
forecasts. Forecasted 50 line P&L (forecasting each of 50 lines) on monthly basis from sales to net operating income. Provided month-end reporting.
MERCHANDISE FINANCE – DIRECTOR: Finance and strategy partner to merchants covering general merchandise categories ($55,000,000,000 in
annual sales across entertainment, toys, seasonal, and hardlines products). Worked on business strategy and business development projects and
led FP&A for area. Served as liaison between merchandise planning and corporate finance. Budgeted sales, gross margin percentage, markdowns,
shrink, and allowances. Rolled-up and validated reasonableness of weekly forecasts built by merchandise planning team. Performed month-end
close and reporting duties. Carried out competitive analyses and worked on special projects such as analyzing competitor's quarterly performance,
relative to Walmart's in similar categories, researching industry growth rates, estimating market share, and evaluating capital investments. Led
entertainment strategy and business development efforts/projects to grow sales and profitability of these categories. Projects included:
 Launched private label electronics accessories with merchant partners; wrote RFP for potential suppliers to bid for private label business.
 Led effort with cross-functional team to evaluate and launch trade-in program for used entertainment products (electronics and games).
 Rolled-out Apple Accessories modular in 2500 stores.
 Researched potential to launch office supplies strategy that would see Walmart enter B2B market.
 Leveraged applied predictive analysis software, and evaluated profitability of many pilot in-store programs to grow sales and profits.

FINANCIAL SERVICES FINANCE – DIRECTOR: Led FP&A/business planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and internal finance customer
support for Walmart's financial services business: money orders, money transfers, credit card, debit card, product warranties, payroll check cashing,
branded gift cards, etc. Provided economic analysis on contract negotiations: check cashing fraud support, debit card, product warranties, and credit
card. Steered quarterly strategic planning off-sites.
 Led 2 senior managers in steering business planning for $500,000,000 net income financial services business line.
 Provided overall direction for financial services strategy development by analyzing business objectives, customer needs, industry
structures, competitiveness, company competencies, growth objectives, and resource constraints.
 Supported evaluation of business development, strategic investments, business opportunities, and negotiations with vendors/potential new
partners by developing and executing work plans, and performing financial and economic analysis.
 Planned, coordinated, and led quarterly senior leadership strategic planning sessions.
 Co-led contract negotiations for MoneyCard, which is a tri-party agreement between Walmart, GreenDot and GE.
o Performed economic scenario analyses and recommended terms and deal structures to maximize economic and strategic value
of contract for Walmart.
o Worked extensively with inside and outside legal councils, tax, corporate accounting, treasury, business team, and executives at
GreenDot to complete contract ($400M - $500M multi-year contract).
o Facilitated final negotiated agreement, tripling company profits to $60M, annually, from this product.
 Steered Product Managers through process to identify nine opportunities to raise gross profit performance and close financial performance
gap to plan by $35,000,000 on gross profit budget of $500,000,000 such that area met financial plan.

E-COMMERCE AND DIRECT CHANNEL FINANCE SUPPORT
Led seven-person finance team. Prepared annual and quarterly forecasts for units, sales, product discounts, promotions, financing, selling and
occupancy expenses for retail, E-Commerce, and direct channel businesses. Also performed ad-hoc financial analysis in support of product
management, manufacturing, and R&D teams.
 Built product profit and loss statement for sofa bed product line, including impact of discounts, logistics, warehousing, home delivery,
warranty, damages, returns, exchanges, and selling costs. Used sensitivity analysis to identify and communicate actions required for
product to reach its target profitability level.
 Analyzed mattress SKUs, and identified 248 out of possible 409 SKUs for company to eliminate over six months.
 Built SKU replacement analysis model, comparing costs to produce SKUs targeted for rationalization with cost to produce SKUs in current
product line to enhance SKU rationalization decision-making.
 Reviewed and recommended changes to retail sales compensation structure, revising fixed vs. commission pay mix.
 Created GM rate mix analysis to explain changes in GM% performance vs. plan.
 Devised analytical approach and tracking report to monitor status of material cost reduction projects (50 unique projects). Led and
implemented process to track project status, performance vs. plan, and timing of inflows of planned cost savings.
 Constructed economic breakeven model used to evaluate feasibility and cost requirements of product design enhancement which when
implemented reduced greatest customer complaint and reason for product returns by 60% (implemented in top selling bed model).
