Millennials–as those born between 1977 and 1995. Gen Y consists of
approximately 79.8 million people in the U.S. We are the fastest-

• Millennials are productive when properly incentivized
• CEB, a consulting firm, polls 90,000 American employees each quarter. It
finds that the millennials among them are in fact the most competitive:
59% of them, in the latest poll, said competition is “what gets them up in
the morning”, compared with 50% of baby-boomers.
• Some 58% of millennials said they compare their performance with their
peers’, as against 48% for other generations” (The Economist).

Gen Y (Millennials) 1997-1995 (21-40) STOP VIDEO AT 2:38
Generation X: Born approximately 1965 – 1977 (41- 53)Baby Boomers: Born approximately 1946 – 1964 (54-72)Traditionalists: Born approximately pre-1946 (73+)
Millennials want purpose, impact, and free food and bean bags. Example MS, Google, etc. They are from a generation of “failed parenting” (us) They were given trophies for participating and so may not have an understanding of effort = reward. They have entered the workforce later than any generation before – possibly due to high education costs.
Social media triggers dopamine, the same chemical that fosters addiction
Many millennials cite a lack of deep relationships
Increased rate of depression and suicide
