WHAT IS A HACKATHON?
A hackathon is a programming marathon for creative developers to design and implement
software and hardware applications. Specific themes and challenges will be provided to the
student competitors by inNOVAtion sponsors like you.
WHO WE ARE
The inNOVAtion Hackathon team is made up of a diverse group of computer science,
information technology, and cyber security NOVA students coming together to help make
this event a reality!
WHY inNOVAtion?
inNOVAtion, NOVA’s first ever Hackathon, gives creative programmers the opportunity to
develop cutting edge technology solutions for companies’ real world problems. Participants
are encouraged to utilize secure coding practices in recognition of the growing cyber security
threats that we face each day. The Student Services and Social Sciences Departments at
NOVA are hosting this hackathon to promote professional development, creation without
boundaries, and cyber security.
Tech Expo

edge of hardware and software solutions.
Cyber Security Learning Forum
A mini event will be hosted for students interested in understanding how to make net-
works and programs secure.
Tech Talks & Challenges
Tech talks will be held in order to inspire students to dive further into various topics such
as robotics, learning Python, and cyber security.
