3. THE IMPORTANCE OFWRITINGYOURWILL
SUDOKU CHALLENGEMEETTHETEAM -TAMMY BURLEY
Did you know that 62% of Canadians do not have aWill1
?
Do you know the trouble which may arise if yourWill is
not valid?
This article is intended to bring to your attention the importance
of having aWill and why you should consider having a valid and up
to dateWill.
If you already have aWill you may wish to ask yourself,“is myWill
valid and up to date?”You may already have one, however if it is not
valid it may be of no use to your family and loved ones.
As time passes lives change. People get married, have children, get
separated or get divorced. All of these life changes should trigger a
visit to the lawyer to haveWills updated.
One challenge is that it is an expensive process for the Estate to
have the courts appoint an Executor for your Estate. Appointing
an Executor may also be a lengthy process and you may find your

assets will go somewhere or to someone other than what you
had intended. The longer it takes and the more work required
to establish an Executor, the more money that will be spent by
the Estate leaving less resources to go to your intended benefi-
ciaries.
There are many reasons to have aWill and a couple that I find
most important start with you being in control of how your
assets will be distributed. You would also like to minimize the
costs to your estate and you will also have peace of mind
knowing this very important part of house-keeping of your
personal life is in order.
If you do not have aWill and are considering putting one
together, here are a few basic questions you may wish to
ask yourself:
The first question you should consider is,“who will be your
Executor and who will be theAlternative Executor?”
Other issues to consider are who are your beneficiaries and do
you have any dependents that must be allowed for?
The best resource to put aWill together for you is your lawyer.
Your lawyer will be able to ask all the right questions and ensure
a document is created which represents your best wishes.
If you do not have a lawyer,I would recommend Mr. BillThatch-
er in Burlington. He has done myWill and he may be reached at

INTRODUCING... BEAR!
Approximately this time last year,Tammy’s
son J.T (from ourTeam) wished for a“Bugg”
(a BostonTerrier-Pug mix) for Christmas.
After debating if J.T was responsible enough
at 10 years old to be the proud owner of a
“Bugg”. The search began and it soon
became apparent that“Buggs” were very
rare. Six weeks later,Tammy took J.T for
a drive Once they had arrived at their desti-
nation, out waddled J.T’s new best friend,
the perfect“Chugg”!
Everyone,meet Bear, a Chihuahua-Pug
mix who is playful,affectionate,fun-loving
and loyal.

we had more light to read by.”

THE ORIGINS OF
HALLOWEEN
Halloween is the one of the oldest holidays and dates
back over two thousand years. The word‘Halloween’
is derived from“All Hallows Eve,” which occurred on
October 31. “All Saints Day” or“All Hallows Day”
was the next day.
While there are many different beliefs, some people
view Halloween as a time for fun, putting on costumes,
trick-or-treating,and having theme parties. Others
view it as a time of superstitions, ghosts, goblins and
evil spirits that should be avoided at all costs.
